OB Retreat is a spotlessly clean 6 bedroom home with 2 bathrooms, well appointed kitchen, lounge/dining. High speed unlimited fibre optic wifi.

PERFECT Wellington location in Oriental Bay. Great views, close to city, cafes, Te Papa, TSB Arena, parks & beach. Ideal for family, friends or work groups up to 12 people.

The ground floor of 100 year old Villa has 2 bathrooms, well appointed kitchen, lounge & dining area. 2 car parks. Can sleep 12. Five of the six bedrooms have Queen beds. One bedroom has two single beds. We also have 3 foldout beds that can be set up in 3 of the rooms if you require separate sleeping arrangements for singles. Plus there is a couch with a pullout bed! Please note, there is an extra one off cost of $25 per stay for setting up the foldout beds. Refer to Linen cost under additional fees. We also have 1 PortaCot, we just ask that you bring the linen for the babe.

You have all the amenities on your doorstep i.e., bush, beach & urban walks, harbour view plus easy access to essential services. Your accommodation is one street back from the harbour providing a quiet retreat.

Oriental Bay is right by the harbour. OB Retreat is one street back from the bay providing a quiet retreat. The main entrance is via a short private path leading to 24 steps that take you to the front door. The extra elevation rewards you with stunning views!

We have two parks for average sized vehicles on our car deck further up the street that you can use by arrangement. Parking on the street is also an option. It is free after hours or during the weekend/public hols or the first two hours during the business day. Parking permits are $18 per day & can be purchased at the local dairy. Please let us know how many vehicles you will have at time of booking so we can make appropriate arrangements.

Cancellation Policy.
Please be aware that on top of the cancellation policy stated, the credit card cost is non-refundable. We are charged a credit card fee that isn't refunded to us if you cancel, so we will retain 5% to cover this.

The location is perfect for the best beaches, and te papa museum, Weta workshop and shopping and paua diving! The host was wonderful and made sure there was a bed made up for each of our 14 people.It was a wonderful stay, a place we could make a big pot of soup on a could night and not have to go to a restaurant. Only slight downside ‘a lot of stairs’ due to being on the hill, but the view is worth it!

This is the second time we've stayed at this fantastic place and it was just as good as the first time (which was 7 years ago).The place is very warm and welcoming, super clean (really the cleanest place we've ever stayed at). The view is amazing and it only a short walk into the city. Perfect for a group get away.We also liked the added touch of a pillow menu, so you get the best nights sleep.Thanks again for having us.

Room with a VIew

Our family group of nine had a wonderful six nights at OB Retreat in Oriental Bay. The house is in a great location with stunning views of the bay. The house is spacious, clean and confortable. Significantly, Carolyn is a wonderful host. She was attentive to our needs, thoughtful and helpful. She also provided lots of extra touches which make this house special: a choice of pillows, robes and slippers (very much enjoyed), and lots of kitchen and laundry provisions, far more than expected. We all loved our time here, and would highly recommend OB Retreat for any size group up to 12 people.

Family reunion at obretreat

Perfect for us

I'm pleased we booked this lovely house in Oriental Parade. For 10 of us having two bathrooms and numerous bedrooms we had plenty of space and no tripping over each other. The accommodation is spotless. A lot of work has gone into the bedding, it's immaculate, comfy and clean. Excellent communication and clear instructions, Carolyn is a thoughtful and caring host. Having the two car parks was extremely useful for us. The location is still walking distance to downtown though or a quick uber. Loved sitting in the lounge watching the shipping action on the harbour.

Ideal for big group

This was a perfect house for our group of 12 women staying in Wellington for the Women's World Cup. The house was spacious with wonderful views of the Bay (and the stadium across the bay). Loads of natural light through large front windows. Kitchen was well equipped too, so we were able to save some money by cooking.

Fantastic stay in this property. 3 families who get together every year. Children range from 9-15 years. Well equipped, clean, tidy, fantastic location. Great communication from hosts. Would highly recommend to groups or big family gatherings. Would love to stay again.
