The Space:
Kauri Retreat Cabin by Tiny Away is a cozy 139-square-foot tiny home located in the tranquil countryside of Waitoki, North Island, New Zealand. It boasts serene pond views and a spacious lawn, perfect for families and children to relax and enjoy. Emphasizing a “back to nature” experience, inviting guests to relax, unwind, and de-stress amidst the beautiful surroundings.

A safe sanctuary with a beautifully wrought iron gate fenced by the Kauri trees, and just 36 minutes away from Auckland. Along with several stunning beaches in the area, such as Browns Bay, Long Bay, and Takapuna Beach, all while being just a stone's throw away from the excitement of the Eventfinda Stadium and its many upcoming events from February to November.

Complete with easy access to water, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities. These amenities include an eco-friendly cassette toilet with a removable waste holding tank, hand basin, and shower (gas-heated for hot showers).

Guest Access:
Guests will have access to our cozy tiny home. For your safety and for the health of the native Kauri, the bush area should not be entered without the owner's permission as it is a sensitive and protected area.

NOTICE TO ALL : Our cabins are set in rural, natural environments—farms, lifestyle blocks, and forests—offering a true country experience. Before you arrive, please keep in mind:

The Neighborhood:
Kauri Retreat Cabin by Tiny Away is a handy countryside spot by rural Waitoki with exciting locales around the corner, just a 20-minute drive from Orewa and a 36-minute drive to Auckland. Experience golden beaches, adventure parks, small-town friendliness, and urban forests as you explore the expansive region of Silverdale and Waitoki.

Explore nearby beaches like Browns Bay, Long Bay, Takapuna, and Orewa for swimming, sunbathing, picnics, and water activities. For outdoor adventures, head to Riverhead Forest, Onepoto Domain, or Snowplanet for everything from hiking and cycling to snow sports. If you're after entertainment, visit Adventure Park Auckland, Eventfinda Stadium, or Wainui Golf Club for dining, live events, and family-friendly fun.

Getting Around:
By car:

- From Orewa, it’s a 14-minute drive, 14km.
- From Albany, it’s a drive of 18 minutes, 18km.
- From Auckland CBD, it’s a 30-minute drive off-peak time, 32 km.
- From the nearest town Silverdale, it’s a 10 minutes drive, 10km.

All are reachable by both 2WD and 4WD

By public transport:

- From Auckland CBD, take NXT1 to Hibiscus Coast Bus Centre (end to end), we can pick up the guests from Hibiscus Coast Bus center.

If you're coming from Christchurch to Waitoki via Auckland, follow these steps:

1. Flight from Christchurch to Auckland: Start by booking a flight from Christchurch International Airport (CHC) to Auckland Airport (AKL). The flight duration is approximately 1.5 to 2 hours.

2. Travel from Auckland to Waitoki: After landing in Auckland, you have a couple of options to reach Waitoki:

- Rent a Car: Renting a car allows flexibility and convenience for exploring. Waitoki is about 40-50 kilometers north
of Auckland, and the drive takes approximately 40-50 minutes, depending on traffic.

- Public Transport: Buses operate between Auckland and nearby towns. However, there may not be direct services
to Waitoki, so check schedules and consider using a combination of bus and taxi services if needed.

3. Route: From Auckland, travel north on State Highway 1 and then follow local roads to reach Waitoki. The journey offers views of rural landscapes and glimpses of New Zealand's natural beauty.

This route allows you to experience the vibrant city life of Auckland and the serene countryside of Waitoki in one journey across New Zealand's North Island.

- Free potable water
- Complimentary breakfast amenities are provided: milk, bottled water, a chocolate drink, cereals, and jam.

- Wifi is not available
- Pets are not allowed
- No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed
- No smoking allowed; there are designated smoking areas.
- Mobile Reception for Vodafone, 2degrees, and Spark is good; Telstra and Optus have no signals.
- We would like to advise guests that extended stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge.

Important note:

- For stays of 5 nights or more, an additional cleaning fee will be collected to help maintain the cassette toilets and ensure a clean and fresh experience for all guests. We appreciate your understanding.
