We had a wonderful stay at Villa Hidalgo, it’s a beautiful villa close to lovely Moraira. We were two families spending our holiday there. The view from the house to the ocean and the surrounding mountains is so beautiful and the pool is big and nice. The house was clean with a well equipped kitchen and a great barbecue area. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to Moraira. The communication with the owners was good and they were flexible with some of the questions we had.

Perfect family getaway

The villa provided a great base for a relaxing family holiday.It was close enough to town for a gentle stroll to the shops and bars, whilst also being a great place to relax and enjoy the fantastic views.Really good facilities and the pool room was a great area to go and have some funLoved our stay

Could of been a lot better

Firstly Thomas responded to enquiry’s quickly, where we had asked for blankets for the baby because he wasn’t very well he sent the cleaner round the next day with them. She clearly smokes so blankets did not smell very good, also found cigarette buts near the pool, the same brand just outside the property the cleaner smelt like an ashtray. We had asked Thomas if the sharp and broken tiles in the previous reviews in the pool had been corrected, he answered some questions but took no notice of some of my questions, by this time I had paid in full. During our time my son had a deep gash on his hand also my daughter in law. This villa needs completely updating, the lights in the outside bar and cooking area don’t work, the lighting inside often flickered no light in the room with bunk beds? We spent ages cleaning the cups in the cupboard and most kitchen Items had to be washed Before we used them. The kitchen sink was terrible, Bedding covers were inadequate, just duvet covers not the usual, pillows were not the normal. The most annoying of all the pool turned green on the last day, we contacted the owner no answer, so we called the pool company, they could not attend until the following day we were leaving,the company advised they had not known anyone would be at the villa that’s why they had not cleaned it?? My granddaughter is an acute asthmatic and dosent respond well to mould and fungus in the water. So overall Iwe certainly would not stay again.

Luxurious and spacious villa

Wow, what a fabulous holiday we had at this place. 20 minute stroll to seafront, peaceful residential area, but with beautiful sea views. We had fun in the pool room in the evenings, and there is an electronic dartboard too. We found this villa to be of superior quality, with its lovely marble staircase, high ceilings, spacious rooms, and generally good quality fittings. We would certainly return.

Amazing Villa

We stayed for 11 nights and had a wonderful time. Villa is spacious (more so than pictures), well equipped and pool is amazing. Good location and possible to walk to various beaches/ restaurants (although poss a little too hot peak summer). The owners were quick to respond to any messages we sent

Lovely villa, great facilities

We had a lovely stay. The villa is in a nice, very quiet part of town (c. 20 min walk into Moraira). The villa was spotless, very comfortable and has all of the utensils etc. you would need. Thomas was very attentive when needed twice. The only negative comment I would make is that some parts of the pool tiling are sharp and we had a number of cuts on feet/legs. Something that needs repairing ASAP.

Very Enjoyable Stay

We had a very enjoyable stay in July with the location of the villa and facilities provided very good, particularly the outdoor / pool area which we used every day. The facilities inside in terms of the kitchen and living room were also very good and the air conditioning a welcome break in the afternoon for our 6 year old, as it was very hot! Although we did not use the games room in the basement, it looked a good place to relax and and shoot some pool if you were staying with friends. Whilst on the whole a very good experience there are a couple of fairly minor items in need of attention in order to give a 5 star rating, especially taking into account the cost and also compared to other villas that we have rented in the area; The bed linen provided for the double beds was not adequate and whilst all that is required in the heat is a sheet for a cover, they were barely sufficient in size for a single bed and a full size double mattress would also have made night time more comfortable. Also with regards to cleanliness, whilst it was fairly evident that it had been cleaned prior to our arrival, both inside and out would benefit from a deep clean, as well as the dishwasher, which on the second day we needed to clean the filters which is why I can see on previous reviews maybe the crockery and glasses etc weren't as clean as they could have been, but not a major drama. Overall very good and with the minor items above addressed, excellent.

Disappointed with the villa not clean

We stayed for a week and when we arrived we found it to be a lovely house. We know the area well as we have just sold our own house 5 mins away. One of the previous review said it was not clean… despite 100% assurances by the owner that it would be very clean …. It wasn’t. We had to re wash all the plates before use. The inside of the house had not been cleaned and the bedrooms were dusty. The side entrance was not swept and overgrown. It looked as though little maintenance had been carried out. The BBQ area was dirty and the sink had not been cleaned. The stones around the jacuzzi were broken so my granddaughter and us could not use it. The pool had not been cleaned. There was cat poo near the pool. I sent photos to the owner but he said there was no problem and that I must of been fussy! We are not we just expect a quality clean and good maintenance. We will not be returning as we had planned. The impression we had was that they didn’t really care. It could of been so different with just a little effort.

Das Haus ist echt toll. Alles ist bei Übergabe sauber gewesen. Bei Fragen an die Eigentümer sind die Antworten sehr schnell gekommen. Es fehlt einem an nichts.

Very poorly maintained and owner is uncaring

On arrival the first thing we noticed was the general lack of cleanliness and maintenance. An inset light in the lounge was dangling from the ceiling and part of the frame of the glass cabinet was broken and had been sellotaped together. The crockery and cutlery was unclean and we had to put everything in the dishwasher before we could use it. The kitchen work surfaces were dirty and sticky, and the oven had remnants of oven chips on the baking tray shelf. The toilet in the downstairs bathroom had not been cleaned and we had to remove traces of faeces. The terrace area was very dirty with grease pools emanating from the gas bbq and cigarette butts littering the area. The gas bottle was empty and we had to pay to replace it so that we could use the bbq. The outside kitchen had not been swept and the sink was full of vegetation debris and covered in a layer of sandy dust, the whole area including the outdoor oven had not been cleaned for some time. There was cat faeces in the gravel. We had to clean the kitchen and wash the whole terrace. Several of the sun beds were broken as were the sun shades, the area at the rear of the outdoor kitchen resembled a sun bed graveyard.One of the doors to the terrace had several broken window panes and on reading previous reviews it appears that this has been the case for a number of years. The towels which cover the sun beds were folded up on the table, they were damp and smelly and had clearly not been washed, we had to wash and dry all of them before we could use them. The stairs leading down to the games and utility area had not been swept and we found the first dead cockroach at the bottom of the stairs. In the utility area we found a pile of dirt along with 2 more cockroaches. The condenser tumble dryer didn’t work at first as it was full of water and the filter was blocked with dense compacted fluff. We called Thomas , the owner, who was completely disinterested and unhelpful. He tried to give us a number for the cleaners but I pointed out that I was on holiday and that it was his responsibility to resolve. after a week the pool needed urgent attention, with algae and a green colour. After complaining, a guy remedied it but the pool was unusable for half a day and when we did go back in, the level of chemicals was so high that it discolured our swimwear. This villa is not, in the state we found it, suitable as an expensive quality holiday location. Vrbo should remove it from its listings

Excellent villa with superb outside area and great location

The villa was excellent with the key winner being the outside pool, garden, seating area, we pretty much spent our whole holiday here. The location of the villa was great with an easy walk to town, we did opt for taxis back as the walk up the hill was a killer in the heat :) the hosts were superb and responded to any queries we had and were extremely flexible with any requests we had. My only feedback was that the bedding mattresses in the downstairs bedroom were very thin, whilst our kids didn’t mind I think anyone else staying would have found them really uncomfortable. I would 100% recommend this villa and will hopefully look to rebook :)

Perfect holidays

Villa Hidalgo is situated near the centre of Moraira although in a quiet and nice area with breathtaking views certainly from the terrace of the main bedroom. We went at the end of May and we enjoyed the heated pool with the whirlpool as it was heated at 29° C. The kids had lots of fun in the basement with the biljart pool and myself with cooking on the different bbq's. My wife and parents enjoyed relaxing at the pool in the comfortable long seats. If you're looking for a nice and comfortable vacation with good beds don't hesitate to book this villa. Also a very good and correct communication with the owners. Really a recommendation... we're coming back.

The best place we ever stayed in Moraira!

We have some experience with other houses. This deal was the best. Heated pool and jacuzzi are a game changer! Even when the weather is good, the heated pool is a must. House is clean, cozy and even better in real life than on the pictures. The owner is a nice guy!

Maison à Thème kitch

Très bel emplacement avec terrasse, très belle piscine et vue mer imprenable. Cependant, nous avons été surpris par les points suivants: Le ménage était plus que douteux à notre arrivée: nous avons nettoyé pendant 3 heures Nous avons relavé le linge de maison qui était sale. . 3 transats sur 6 étaient inutilisables. . Barbecue et bar de piscine en tres mauvais état Climatisation partiellement défectueuse sur certaines zones. Ensemble de la maison désordonné. . Second frigo défectueux. . Carrelage de la piscine se delitte. Après avoir ordonné la maison, nous avons passé une semaine agreable malgré tout. Étant de bonne composition nous avons pris le bon côté des chose et avons passé un séjour agréable Jerome

Didn’t match our expectations

I booked this place for a very special client but due to the corona virus they weren’t able to travel. We couldn’t get a refund as we passed the cancellation period but was offered a 40% refund or 50% credit. My partner and I decided to go ahead and go as we didn’t want to lose our money. Getting into the villa was very straight forward and instructions on how to get there was very easy. The villa was very spacious and the pool was lovely, however I am really glad I didn’t send my clients here as there were a few things that didn’t meet our expectations. The villa seemed to be in need of a good deep clean and a lot of things needed to be repaired. The main bedroom balcony had dried cat faeces on the furniture ottoman, the table was in need of a clean, the floor hadn’t been brushed for quite some time and one of the insect mesh needed to be replaced as it was broken. The sun loungers were in need of a good clean and the wicker chairs are in need of replacement. Living room area was lovely but the cushions needed a deep clean as they were marked. Kitchen area is again lovely but the cupboards were very sticky. Main bedroom has the most uncomfortable bed frame as it’s too high for the mattress so when you get in and out of bed you have to uncomfortably climb over the frame. Due to Covid 19 this should have all been deep cleaned as a minimum but wasn’t. If these issues were addressed it could be a spectacular villa.

Fabulous

What an amazing villa - well equipped and comfortable in a lovely quiet area but only a short walk from Moraira beach and town centre. It was the perfect location for two couples wanting to escape for some winter sun. We could sit and look at that view all day long. Wonderful!

Beautiful Villa and stunning views

We loved Villa Hidalgo, everything about this villa is beautiful. The decor is lovely and the panoramic views just make this even more lovely. The villa is so well equipped and the pool table in the games room downstairs was an added bonus (especially on rainy days!). We stayed in October so for a couple of days it rained and was quite chilly outside but we were still very comfortable with the heated pool and heating in the villa too. All in all a fabulous holiday and we would love to come back and stay again! Highly recommended! Thank you Daniela and Thomas!

Villa zum Wohlfühlen und Entspannen

Die Villa liegt sehr schön mit einem tollen Meerblick. Von außen hebt sich die Villa durch ihre für diese Gegend außergewöhnliche Optik vom Rest der Villen ab. Die Ausstattung und die Qualität des Interieurs lässt keine Wünsche offen. Wir haben die Zeit am Pool und auch im Billiardzimmer sehr genossen. Der Vermieter Herr von Dell Armi hat uns super weitergeholfen und immer prompt auf Anfragen geantwortet. Wir können die Villa zu 100% weiter empfehlen! Für uns steht fest, dass wir auf jeden Fall wieder kommen. Vielen Dank an die Vermieter, dass sie dieses schöne Haus zur Verfügung stellen! Grüße von Familie Kirchhof
