"The room was a dump. Ever seen a hotel room with a bathroom without a door? The shower on the WC? Here is one just a plastic curtain to stop the water from the shower (we had to soak towels to make sure it did not make it into the room). And the dump smells. Oh, and the water smelled of sewage. Breakfast was largely packaged items. No freshly squeezed juice or yoghurt. Quite disappointing given the reviews. The manager was only interested in pestering us to eat at his restaurant and his tours....

"Dar Drissi is lovely. The location is great. We had the family room which has one king bed and 3 singles. An en-suite, large bathroom and a balcony sitting area that looks over the fountain in the main area below. The terrace on the roof is incredible and the breakfast scrumptious. We also had their home cooked dinner was large and delicious. We highly recommend Dar Drissi for your stay in Fes. "

Almost anything you are offered by the Riad manager will cost you two to three times more than if you use Viator or any online booking service for the exact same experience. "Riad Fes Maya is a stunningly beautiful building. The room we had was ornate and spacious, but dark. Natural light filtered in from the courtyard at the expense of privacy, a concept implicitly understood by the other guests. We enjoyed dinner on the rooftop deck twice during our stay and found breakfasts enjoyable as long as we could stay out of the hot late May sun and out of the glass enclosed room where most guests sat.
