"Wonderful experience."

"I didn't expect that it would be a whole house just for myself! The service was splendid, very polite and helpful. The house has everything you need, i.e. all the dishes. The interior is traditional and, very comfortable and nice."

"The hotel go above and beyond call duty to provide for their guests. Anything we would want, down to nail clippers was provided! A memorable stay, for sure. Apart from that, comfortable beds etc"

"We loved staying here and would definitely stay again if we visited Kyoto. Very friendly and helpful staff, amenities available to us were really useful and our room was perfect for what we needed. We also loved the convenient location to local temples, shopping, restaurants and multiple local train stations which made getting around very easy even with our baby. Very glad we chose to stay at this hotel and would recommend to anyone."

"Sowaka was amazing. Great location, beautiful hotel, incredible food, perfect staff! Do take the 5:45 am tour to Kiyomizu-dera with the incredibly knowledgeable hotel manager. A wonderful and unique experience without all the tourists around."

"Nuestro mejor hotel en todo japon"

"Great spot! Pretty self service for the most part but a great spot right in Gion."

"Es bonito y está muy bien ubicado. Si volvería."

"Very nice hotel, comfortable and clean. The staff was friendly and attentive. The room was cozy and the bed was comfortable."

"Steal of a deal for this spacious room. Hotel was spotless. Location was great as well."

"とても清潔でした。 お風呂が独立してゆっくりできましたし、とても便利な立地でした。 特にフロントの方の助けが必要なことはありませんでしたが、少し私語が多いのが気になりました。"

"Great location"

"As a family of 4 adults, this was a good hotel to stay at. Close to subway, restaurants, Gion and other must see sites. The hotel has a boutique style feel to it and the staff was friendly and helpful. The room was smaller than other hotels we stayed at but had everything you need.
