"Older hotel in need of some upgrades. Stains on carpets, mold on the shower curtain and shower grout. Sheer curtains were so old they easily tore. Walls are thin and I could hear the guest on the floor above me peeing. I needed another hotel stay in Portland and did not return to this place."

"I am surprised by the high ratings of this place. I would NOT stay here again. There is a difference between historic charm and poorly maintained. The stairs to our room were steep (historic charm). The bathroom was absolutely tiny and not clean; rust and grit everywhere. "Quiet one night stay in advance of a conference in Portland. Easy to find off the highway and located close to lots of chain restaurants for dining options. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Temperature controls were easy to use.
The hotel is a bit dated with chipped paint and peeling wallpaper in places. They have signboards in the lobby stating that renovations are planned.
