It is a short drive to Fredericksburg's shops and restaurants and you pass lots of places you'll want to stop anyway while you're in the area. We loved having a place to stay away from the crowds. "We were in town to visit the WWII museum in Fredericksburg and see the town. Sadly we only had one day this trip. The stay was wonderful and everything was as advertised. Comfortable beds, everything was clean and very nicely taken care of. You can tell it was an older house by the design but the upgrades and work on the home are great.
