This updated cottage is located just three blocks from the South Beach of Lake Michigan, two blocks from Kids' Corner Park, and a short walk to the downtown area.

INSIDE THE HOME

This home has recently been totally repainted with other updates including a new kitchen with upgraded stainless appliances, a renovated bathroom, and beautifully refinished hardwood floors. The three bedrooms and one bath will accommodate 8 guests comfortably. The living room features plenty of comfortable seating and a wall-mounted flat-screen TV with a DVD player. Additionally, there is a large laundry area downstairs complete with an oversized washer and dryer. The kitchen is fully equipped with all pots and pans, dishes, utensils, baking dishes, and most kitchen essentials.

OUTDOOR SPACE

In the back is a wonderful 14' x 14' screened-in porch for relaxing on summer evenings. Also, enjoy the fire pit as well as table and chairs privately located on brick patios in the back of the home. The fenced-in backyard is perfect for cooking out or playing yard games.

In the outdoor shed, you will find three adult bikes, beach chairs, a cooler, a beach wagon, kids' sand toys, and outdoor games including corn hole that are provided for your use.

Parking: Parking is provided for 2 cars in the driveway and as available, street parking in front of the home

Ahhh, the beach. The sugar sand and blue waters of Lake Michigan and South Beach are just a short walk away. Also, a short walk away is downtown. South Haven is your classic beach town community with specialty boutique shopping and eclectic eateries. My daughter and her family loved their stay. It was a great location for a family with young kids with terrific access to the park to beat all parks and the beach. The back porch and yard were perfect for getting together and everything you possibly could need was there. We were so comfortable and impressed!!!

Perfect home for small family

This was a great little home that we enjoyed very much. The location can't be beat as its super close (walkable) to the playground, south beach, van buren trail, and downtown area. The extra amenities to keep the kids busy were a major plus. We utilized the beach chairs, kits sand toys, and outdoor games included in the outdoor shed. Morning coffee in the screened in porch may have been a favorite part of the trip. We'd definitely consider staying here next year. The only downfall is that there isn't a dishwasher (1st world problems). It was also odd that the house was only stocked with two rolls of toilet paper and one roll of paper towels for a family of four to last 5 nights. That could have been fixed with a message to the property manager, but we just bought some extras while we were out.

Great little cottage blocks from the beach

We really enjoyed our stay at flip flop cottage. It was very clean and had plenty of supplies to make our stay comfortable. We especially loved the big screened-in porch. My 4 year old enjoyed the games and books.

Great little house

Was a great house that fitted our needs of a family of 4. Outdoor screened in porch was a great bonus area. While it is close to the beach straight west you do have to walk a few more blocks if you have a wagon as the closest beach access is all stairs. Overall not an issue. Quick walk to town as well

Perfect Location

We loved this little place. We have been coming to South Haven for many years but this is the first time we rented a place. This location was perfect for our young family. The house had just enough space and added items that made traveling with our kiddos great! Would definitely come back and visit this sweet little home again.

This was a great place to rent. It was a short walk to the beach. The screened-in porch was an additional bonus space. The shed was stocked with bikes and beach items. No dishwasher, but we managed without it.

Super cottage by the Lake - South Haven truly a gem!

Love this place! It's a good price (relative to other much more costly houses) for a place that is close to Lake Michigan and great for families. We love all the fun stuff for kids in the garden shed (including cornhole and hula hoops) and the enclosed back porch which gives the house an extra room that's al fresco! Improvements that could be made include: stocking some swim towels; maybe some different color bath towels so people don't get so confused by which white towel is theirs; cleaning out the bath drain between bookings; unblocking the bathroom sink drain so the water flows out properly; and stocking a few more items in the kitchen like an ice-cream scoop and a good set of plastic tumblers and dishes to be used outside. We are big fans of the house, having returned this summer, and definitely recommend it to others!

Would be perfect with a new mattress

It's a nice little house that's well maintained and well furnished, and it's in an unbeatable location. BUT the mattress on the queen-sized bed was incredibly uncomfortable, and there's no dishwasher even though listing says there is one.

Had what we needec

The property had everything we needed (although we did not cook and only used coffee cups and glasses). Screened in porch was great for morning coffee. Decor was cute. While the bathroom was updated, I think better materials would make a difference. And you could only get in the shower by squeezing between the sink and the sliding door. For someone very heavy or with limited mobility, that would be a serious problem.

Cute cottage for a simple summer getaway

We really liked the cottage... it's cute and old-school though nicely updated. Has plenty of beds and nice fun decor details and games for kids. Love the screened-off porch area to fend off mosquitoes and strung with nice lights. Great shed with bikes, and beach wagon. A few things to be improved on: could supply kitchen towels (at least I didn't find them). The property also needs a recycling bin instead of 2 regular trash wheelies... because a lot of what you use could easily be recycled. That seems like a no-brainer for a VRBO property in 2021! Only things that could have been cleaned better... the bath drain (ick!) and sweeping the previously mentioned porch so it's not all sandy. Other than that, we'd do it again... super location, near the beach and reasonably near town. We heart South Haven!
