The Schaefer House sits on one of the most scenic 65 acres in the Laurel Highlands and is located just two minutes from Ohiopyle State Park. Hike to the top of the drive and overlook the most spectacular views of Sugarloaf Mountain! The home was fully renovated in 2011. The home offers a Stone Fireplace and sleeper sofa in the living area, a fully equipped kitchen, three bedrooms and one bath. The Schaefer House comfortably sleeps 8. Relax on the covered front porch swing where you can catch a glimpse of the deer and turkey that frequent the property. This property is dog friendly.* Additional flat fee will be charged per pet after receiving your signed Rental Agreement. The Schaefer House sits on one of the most scenic 65 acres in the Laurel Highlands and the walking trails overlook the most spectacular views of Sugarloaf Mountain! The Schaefer House offers a Fruit Orchard with Apples, Pears, Peaches, Plums, Grapes, Persimmons, Blueberries, fire pit, wishing well and charcoal grill. In the evening you can enjoy the peaceful surroundings by the fire pit. In the mornings, relax on the covered front porch swing where you can catch a glimpse of the deer and turkey that frequent the property. The Schaefer house is the perfect home away from home. This unit also includes High Speed Internet with WIFI throughout the house. The Schaefer House is conveniently located next to the Orndorff Cabin which sleeps 6. Rent both homes for your large group! I was impressed with accuracy of the listing for this cabin. It was quaint and cozy, and a very short drive to downtown Ohiopyle. The checkin process was smooth and the provided items were sufficient, but nothing was exceptional that was provided.

Location, property, and cabin were all stunningly beautiful. The house was incredibly clean and comfortable, and we loved the amenities. It was only a few minutes away from the center of town and very conveniently located. We appreciated that this property was dog friendly. We walked up to the top of the drive and the view was gorgeous in the morning with the mist on the fields and the overlook. We would definitely love to try one the other properties at the same address with the hot tubs too. The only real issue we had was that we ran out of well water after two days even though not everyone showered and we didn’t use the kitchen to cook, so we could not do the dishes or flush the toilet before leaving which felt pretty awful. We also got the check out instructions after we had driven hours home; it would be helpful to have those in advance, especially with the connectivity issues in that area. This may be VRBOs setup though. Everything else was totally lovely!

There are four houses on the property. Just off the road, it is easy to find. The house is spacious and clean. Has a nice rustic look but has everything you need. The beds are large and comfortable. Check in and out was easy. Great place to enjoy a peaceful weekend in Ohiopyle. Will stay there again.

The house was old and rustic but in great shape. We enjoyed the covered porch for morning coffee and evening thunderstorms. I was concerned about the other house being so close but it was not occupied. Please note: no AC. We opened the windows at night and although there was occasional road noise, it wasn’t enough to wake us. Also, supply your own firewood (purchase locally).

Very nice cabin in a good location. Some suggestions would be mirrors in the bedrooms. With 1 bathroom, it makes it difficult to get ready when the only mirror in the house is in the only bathroom. More seating in the family room and kitchen areas, cabin sleeps 6 but only seats 4 comfortably We always have a great time when we are with family but some of these items would have helped

The house was quirky but very nice. The stairs going up to the bedrooms should have a railing all the way up. The staff was quick to respond when we needed a new coffee pot because the one there didn’t work.

We can up from Hampton Roads Virginia for my son's birthday, skiing at seven springs. We all had a great time. The mattresses were a bit to firm, other than that this place was great. The food and service over at Braddock's was terrific as well. Had a blast, thank you for your hospitality!

This was one of the cleanest, most well-appointed places that we've rented. The location was great for walking the dog or walking to neighborhood restaurants, etc. Centrally located for driving around Lexington. A quiet neighborhood but still close to the action. One of the best places we've rented.

The property was spacious and beautiful. The house was very clean and cozy! We were a bit surprised that we couldn't use the indoor fireplace, but the fire pit area outside was just as good. We had a great getaway and will definitely be back!

We rented not knowing we would have been sharing our outdoor area with the neighboring house that we did not know was there until we saw a google map of the property. Too late, since we already rented. The neighboring house is well concealed in the picture. Unlike us our neighbors were not looking for a quiet retreat and played loud music every night between 7 and 10 the time we wanted to hang out quietly by the fire. The draw in the ad for me was the outside fire pit. At least after the first night they played the music inside and it muted it somewhat and also they kept the dogs in inside after the events of our first night but not knowing what to expect from day to day limited what we chose to do at the rental. The location is actually good (close to the park and FW) except for the proximity of the other house.
