"When we arrived to the hotel, they informed us there was a storm and they lost power. That is understandable, however they provided no alternative or directions on where we could sleep that night. They only said they were closed and couldn't support or help us in any way. We had driven 3 hours from Edimburgh and had to find another hotel in the middle of the night with very limit knowledge of the area and very poor international phone internet, sitting in a parking lot. "We loved our two nights stay at Melfort House. It was peaceful idyll that restored us somewhat as we were nearing the end of our road trip through Scotland.
