Big Waterfront House on the Bay! Amazing Views, Swim Deck, Walk to Beach!

This house is directly on the Chesapeake Bay, half a mile from the nearest sandy beach, and convenient to many Virginia Beaches, downtown Norfolk, convention centers, CNU, ODU, and naval bases. Kayaks and beach equipment rentals available, message host for details!
It features a dock for swimming and tanning, decks on both floors, and amazing water views from 3 of the 4 bedrooms. Fully loaded with amenities, you will have a full kitchen, dining room, Roku TVs in every bedroom, WiFi, and central air. The master has a king bed, 2 queens in each upstairs bedroom, and a full bed and large sectional in the 4th bedroom, so it is capable of sleeping a large group. Parks a maximum of 4 vehicles, 2 in the garage and 2 in the driveway. Do not attempt to park more than 4 vehicles. No parties or loud music allowed.

Small adjustments needed

Property was spacious with a great view. Check-in was quick and simple, and the instructions from the property owner were clear and concise.When we arrived the house was tidy and wiped down, but not clean. An open water bottle, Swiffer and roll of paper towels were left upstairs; as if someone was interrupted while cleaning. There were no cleaning supplies in the house. A cheap broom and dust pan was provided, but it just scattered anything swept into it all over floor. Poor quality supplies were provided throughout the house.The kitchen was seemingly equiped from a dollar store. The pans were scratched and peeling, there was no toaster, nor was there a can opener. The filters for the coffee machine were wrong, and the only kitchen sponge for cleaning was really dirty.The pillows in the bedrooms were poor quality. The bathrooms had no soap, shampoo, or conditioner. Be prepared to go shopping.The main floor had a slight fishy smell that became stronger everyday. The bedroom with the couch (living room?) smelled like cigarettes. It is clear the property owner is trying. Hospitality is hard. At 200 per room per night, the quality could be higher. They are missing the mark.

Cool

Comfortable overall including beds. Nice view from most rooms. Enough dinning/kitchen space for our group of 7. Back porch/ deck was a plus. The only issue was, the upstairs tub had been repaired and was a little weird but did not leak and when hanging a face cloth on the towel rack, it fell of the wall as if had been previously glued. We all still enjoyed our stay.

We enjoyed our stay at the property it’s a great location that makes it easy to navigate around all the weekend traffic on I-64. The view from the back porch is Awesome. Would have rated five stars but there’s no central place for everyone to gather to watch TV and it would be great if the curtains in the primary bedroom were floor length to help block the morning sun.

Vacation with grands

This property is not what it appeared to be. George the owner wait to tell us before checking in that the upstairs tube had a crack in it could not be used. I arrived to property with sign on upstairs tub not to use tub nor shower that put eight people using one shower downstairs. Also upstairs sink was clogged. I called George no response. Not to mention slide doors did not lock had rods in them . The best thing was the kids got to fish. Do not waste your money on this property. The grass was not mowed, not well stocked , leaking stains in the dining area ceiling., broken broom and ice maker did not work. This was the first time I have filed a complaint. My family was very disappointed after arriving . I will NOT be returning.

Our stay at Big Waterfront House on the Bay! definitely had a beautiful view, walk to the beach access, and swimmable waters. The housekeeper was unaware we had early check-in so they were still finishing up cleaning when we arrived. They let us know when an area was finished so we could bring our stuff in. Just seemed a bit rushed.The bedrooms were spacious and mattresses were comfy- felt like memory foam. Shower curtains seemed clean... No visible gross mold growing on the bottom of them. The tubs could use some barkeepers friend and belach to get the build up off. Toilet paper was good quality and extras were available. Towels were provided, but would be helpful to have a few towels- especially if staying more than a night. Some basic toiletries were provided - soap, shampoo, conditioner. If you plan to stay for a bit of an extended period of time, the kitchen has some pots/pans/utensils- we were able to make tacos, but check before you cook incase there is something specific you need. The coffee pot worked like a charm and the pot itself didn't leak when you poured a cup! The upstairs bathroom needs a tub renovation, so check with host before you book to make sure the upstairs shower is repaired and won't cause a leak into the foyer/dining area. Doors need to also be fixed both screens and locks. To contact host I used phone number provided on VRBO not the one on the wall at the bottom of the stairs.This house has MUCH potential for a lovely stay... Just needs TLC.

Short Stay while visiting son on base

The home was centrally located just off the highway. There are MANY steel steps to enter the home, just be aware of traveling with older parents or small kids. It is right on the water with a dock which was great for fishing. We spent most of the time sitting on the back deck enjoying the view. The kitchen needed some things- no toaster, baking sheet or larger nonstick frying pan and very little silverware. The property manager was great and responded very quickly- even had a repair person over the next day to fix a crack in the shower. We hope to stay there again.
