"I was able to check in online before I arrived at The Kicking Dickey. The staff were very helpful and friendly along with the pub which I thought was very welcoming. My room was at the rear of the property so away from any noise. The room itself was comfortable and well maintained, I think it might of been a converted stable. Nice functional bathroom with a shower and a very comfortable single bed. Lots of free parking outside the property. All in all well worth a stay."

"The double bed matress was really bad, probably the worst I have slept in. It has lots of potential but missed the mark on a few things. We had a double room but only 1 cup was in the room and 1 coat hanger. It had a mini fridge but wasn't working. It did have air con. Breakfast could be extended until at least 10.30 as a couple when we were there arrived at 10am to be told breakfast had finished. So as an urgent task replace all mattresses or at least Room 8"

"It was supposed to be a family room we had one standard double bed one very small sofa bed like a single bed the room was very dusty. My wife didn’t stop sneezing all night. My son had to sleep in the bed with us. We didn’t have any room when I told staff there was an interesting helping us in"

"Self check-in failed to work. Had to wait for a staff member to do everything again in order to print keycard correctly, what a waste of time. Room stifling hot and windows didn’t open. One window pane appeared to be missing from the two layers which should’ve been present - leading to road noise being very evident throughout the night. Bath and sink drains both blocked and then stank of sewerage soon after. Overall, and appalling place to stay."

"This quirky stay was right up our street, accommodation was clean and tidy, breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice, the views were beautiful and a relaxing and calm environment. the staff were so accommodating and pleasant with great sense of humour and genuine people. "Check in was great, nice & easy and the room was ready straight away. The room was a twin, a great size but very tired. The carpet could do with changing and the shower sealant definitely needs re-doing as it was black in areas. Breakfast was plentiful, could have been warmer but nothing too drastic. It even a separate gluten free section, including its own toaster, was impressed with that. There is also a Toby Carvery just opposite It served us well for 1 night but would not want to stay any...
