"I liked most things. The bed was one of the most comfortable on which I have slept. The bath was really nice, long and comfortable. The hot water was hot whenever I wanted it. I ate at the restaurant three evenings. The food was reasonably good but I feel that apart from the jam sponge and custard, the puddings were trying too hard and were too complex to sound attractive. I think that simpler puddings would be far better. I liked two of my main courses, the sausages and mash, and the Cowboy...

"Very impressed by all on offer. Room booked, first class value. Evening meal excellent As was breakfast. Have not had such attentive and prompt restaurant service "for many a year"! Hotel situation close to cathedral and castle. The reason for visit. Also close to long term parking as hotel does not have places for cars."

"Lovely little hotel. Everything in the room was spotless and well equipped. Parking was interesting but you are warned about that beforehand."

"This is my second stay at this hotel, and hopefully not the last! The rooms were spotless, facilities are great, top spec bathroom etc etc. The staff are friendly and informative, and to top it all you get breakfast included! Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this gorgeous hotel to anyone travelling to Lincoln. "

"Very welcoming and lovely vibe"

"Stayed 2 nights while visiting family in the area, found the Red Lion through an internet search, reviews were good and the price was reasonable, so we booked. Very happy we did, all the comments from the good reviews we found to be accurate. The only negative comment I could make is that, by necessity electric showers are fitted and they are a bit whimpish! You to run around to get wet "

"Always enjoy staying here. Splendid room, spacious and comfortable. Building itself is historic. Breakfast was very good and worth having, not least for the magnificence of the surroundings. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent. "

"Check in was quick and easy, lady on reception was friendly and professional. Rooms were spacious and clean (apart from an old sock being found in corner of one of the two rooms). Loved the large, comfy bath towels. Beds very comfy. Will stay again. "

"Excellent value for money. Comunal kitchen so great ifvyou would like to grab a take away from the many places around the corner. Only thing i would say is a lot of road noise in the room however they do provide earplugs which help. Overall very happy. "

"Chris the owner always makes you feel welcome. Dining in the pub is always a tasty experience, as is the selection of ales on the bar. Rooms are tasteful in good shape, and comfortable. Parking is easy, great value for money "
