"We had a wonderful stay at Phoenicia Lodge. We stayed for two nights and went hiking in the surrounding area. The lodge is in a great location—ideal if you have a car (we didn’t, but we managed just fine). Sandra was a huge help, and the welcome was fantastic. She always gave great advice and really takes good care of her guests. I highly recommend Phoenicia Lodge."

"To be honest I was surprised that upon entry I went downstairs to the room, but as the property is on a hill it is not a basement room. It’s Kingston and it’s a historic property - the landlords have done a lovely job, the room was well appointed, and the team were wonderfully helpful and responsive, and helped me with my bags. Parking on site was helpful. And I even did a load of laundry while there."

"So, we booked this about an hour ahead of being there. When we showed up, the office was closed. There was a sign on the door addressed to another guest and a phone number on the closed sign. Called the number and the owner of the property answered and apologized that he did not see the reservation come in and was away from the property. He asked us to wait 30 minutes so he could return to check us in. It got mostly better from there. Check in was pleasant and the owner was very apologetic...

"The stairs were very steep. The hotel itself was dated but acceptable for our stay. There could be some upgrades to the hotel to make it seem a little nicer. It was a basic hotel that did it's job and allowed us to sleep comfortably with no distractions."

"The property has outside appeal. The inside was clean and appeared maintained. However, the interior is built cheaply and this is noticeable in the rooms. The lighting is designed to go off automatically but this was a safety concern. When showering at night the bathroom lights would Click off and it would have to be reactivated to come on. The intent is noted but again, dangerous trying to manage in the dark. The room set up Felt more like an apartment meant for longer stays rather than a hotel...
