"Nice hotel in a beautiful area, staff were polite but not very friendly. I did feel that I was being ripped off as the prices were top end and the quality wasn’t. DO NOT ask for a taxi, they organised a cab from central Reading that charged £40 for a 2 mile 10 minute journey at 3:30 in the afternoon!! Totally shocked at this."

"The Ferryman's Cottage have cute rooms, which have both heating and cooling if required. We had to keep blinds closed as the pub guests walk past our windows. The bed was comfy and the nespresso machine was very much appreciated. The only drawback is the sound. When other guests are going to their rooms it sounds like they are literally in the same room. He sent an invoice for GBP20 for an early check-in, we were there an hour early, he gave us the key and never said a thing; good luck with that !!!. The menu was pathetic. We didn't eat there at all. Horrible experience. The room was very clean as was the bathroom, but the sewage smell was unbearable. Never again, whoever owns this place needs a new manager, if the manager is the owner this place can't...
