"The reason I haven’t scored 5 is that Expedia sold us a room that had issues with noise / cooking smells as it’s above the kitchen and is noisey and smelly when the staff are cooking. We stayed in a room named Helvellyn and Expedia didn’t state any issues with any rooms. If we had booked direct with the queens head it details the room helvellyn as having issues with noise etc due to it’s proximity to the kitchen. "This was a nice place to stay for a few nights, and quiet apart from the neighbour’s yappy dog and in a great central location for Windermere. Helpful staff, breakfast was good - perhaps could do with slightly bigger portion sizes though. The shower was tiny. Only comfortable if you are child-sized. This was my only bugbear as I am a 6ft fat bloke. Car parking plentiful. But be aware if you have an SUV you might struggle to get round the back because of the poor parking of others making it...
