"Property lovely, high standard interior. Staff on reception felt a little awkward as if on guard sat at a desk near the stairs but were always friendly. Access was a little difficult due to cars parked around the entrance to the car park. I guess to avoid the additional charge per night extra charge which we paid. Upon leaving our car was covered in tree sap but it will wash off. We stayed for 4 days and no one came into our room to empty our bins, replenish toiletries or restock the hot drink...

"Todo muy bien, recomendado y personal amable… Solo un poco más de atención durante la noche"

"This is the most wonderful place to stay. It is on a working farm but very close to York. Catherine was the most amazing host and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was cooked to order and couldn’t be faulted. Her recommendation for food was spot on and any questions were answered. My husband and I can’t wait to return in the future and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this to anyone considering staying here"

"The Monk Bridge House is an amazing treasure in a perfect location for exploring York. The owners are attentive and the service is exemplary. Definitely worth a visit."

"Lovely rather different accommodation offering,… Escape from the ordinary and consider a stay here. Open Yorkshire countryside and beautiful views!"

"Great stay for what I needed"

"Enjoyed walking around some hills and by the river. Visited the Castle. The breakfast was very good. I was able to park my car every evening."

"The bedding and towels were of good quality and the room was clean however the general state of maintenance was very poor. The ensuite smelled of rot as evidenced in the state of the bath surround. The fan sounded like a jet engine. The window was almost impossible to put up or down but needed to be up to dissipate the smell of the bathroom. The hallways also smelt musty and there are lots of stairs up and down with your luggage. I would not stay here again."

"A beautiful property, very clean and well situated. Secure parking and easy access to Richmond. A true welcome and good value for money. Highly recommended."
