"Arrived early and was able to get a Barrier Island pass to access the clubhouse, outdoor pool and parking at the beach even before checking in at 3pm. House was clean. My teen son and his friend enjoyed the “man cave,” to play video games while my daughter and I watched movies at night in the extra living room. There is a coffee/cafe shop beneath the rental which was nice! We did not walk (drove) to the beach, although could have, but enjoyed having access to all the extra barrier island...

"Absolutely recommend the sunset surf shack for a little getaway in OBX. The hosts Amber and Brett have a lovely home and were great with communication and any recommendations that you may need help with during your stay. Local to the beach and with what they offer in allowing use of the bikes for the path or if you want to take a paddle out in the bay they are very kind to offer that. "We met the host as we arrived and she was very nice and accommodating. The place had everything possible that we needed or wanted. It was private and fairly quiet. Had a nice resident cat that soothed the missing of our cats. Nice, private pool. About a 5 minute drive from the beach and all the local restaurants"

"The apartment was incredibly clean and tastefully furnished. The kitchen was well-stocked. There were plenty of towels and hot water. The deck is huge, although "Ocean views from deck" is slightly misleading - I could see the ocean on the horizon through a gap in the trees only when standing. "I could not say enough great things about this property. It was incredibly clean, the coffee each morning was a wonderful touch, and the hot tub was amazing. Being able to cruise around on the bikes was phenomenal, and both the shower and bathtub were exceptional.The hosts were fantastic as well.
