While the setting is peaceful, you're just a short drive from the vibrant energy of Center Street, where Folly's best dining, shopping, and entertainment await. This elevated cottage comfortably sleeps six and features an open-concept living space with cozy seating and a fully equipped kitchen. Start your mornings on the screened-in front porch with a fresh cup of coffee and ocean breezes, then wind down on the spacious back deck, where breathtaking sunsets over the marsh provide the perfect backdrop for relaxation.
Outside, you'll find an open-air wash station, a private outdoor shower with hot and cold water, and a charcoal grill for cookouts. The large driveway offers ample parking for multiple vehicles—even a small boat! A public boat ramp with parking is just 0.5 miles away, making getting out on the water easy.
Folly Beach, lovingly called "The Edge of America," is known for its laid-back vibe, eclectic shops, lively restaurants, and miles of beautiful shoreline. Whether you prefer surfing, fishing, kayaking, or watching dolphins play in the surf, there's something for everyone. Historic downtown Charleston is just a 25-minute drive away, offering world-class dining, shopping, and sightseeing.

Notes
Complimentary High-Speed Wi-Fi, air conditioning, surround sound, washer and dryer, fully equipped kitchen, standard coffee maker, Vitamix blender, iron, ironing board, private outdoor shower, and high thread count linens & towels (minus beach towels). We do not provide beach equipment, but anything available at the property is yours to use.
This property is 15 miles to Downtown Charleston and 23 miles to the Charleston Airport. There is plenty of parking both in the driveway and under the house.
You must be at least 25 years old to rent this property and this is a non-smoking property.
Contactless Check-In: This home is equipped with a Keyless Entry System and a door code will be provided prior to your arrival date. Check-in time: 4PM; Check-out time: 10AM.
Folly Beach has a noise ordinance starting at 10PM that applies to private residences. Please be mindful of your neighbors. House parties, weddings, functions, events, bands, DJs, etc., are prohibited.
Pets considered: All pets must be approved by our office before you arrive. Upon approval there is a $150 (plus tax) per pet nonrefundable pet fee that is due before you arrive. If not already on your reservation, it will be added. Once this is done and the fee paid, you will be all set to bring your pet with you (1 pet max, no more than 60 lbs. each, no puppies under 1 year old, no cats). Emotional support animals, comfort animals, and therapy dogs are not service animals under Title II and Title III of the ADA and are subject to approval and fees prior to arrival.
A 50% payment is required when placing your reservation online, with the remaining 50% automatically charged to the card on file 30 days before your check-in date. If you are booking a reservation withing 30 days of your arrival date, the other 50% of your reservation will be charged within the next business day.

MyOceanRental strives to ensure peace for all our guests, neighbors, and the community of Folly Beach. To comply with Folly Beach's new strict noise ordinance, we now use noise sensors in our properties. NoiseAware is a smart home device that measures decibel levels, is 100% privacy compliant, and does NOT listen or record. If the noise level exceeds the legal limit for Folly Beach, you will receive a friendly reminder text message to turn the noise down. This will help avoid any violations with the Folly Beach police that can result in fines and revoke the homeowner's business license.

We are committed to your and our community's comfort, so please let us know if we can do anything during your stay to make it more enjoyable. However, the occupancy can only be at most ten people at any time during your stay. If the occupancy is misrepresented or a disturbance is reported at the property, we reserve the right to terminate your rental agreement and will require that you vacate the property immediately without a refund.

This property is licensed by the City of Folly Beach to be used as a vacation rental property; Business license LIC008131 and Rental Registration STR24-A0517.

Pleasant stay. Location exceptional. Notible house issues. Outside lights for the stairwell. Non functional. If they work we couldnt figure out how to make the work. Bathroom window unsecured. Bathroom widow has broken lock, no screen on the window, no exhaust for the bathroom. Shower head in the shower is hard to use and worn from over adjusting. Toilet flush handle needs work.Lounge furniture in the living room is broken down, overused and substandard. Kitchen, well equipped and functional. Garbage container has a broken lid, anoying to use. Bedroom space is small, pillows adequate. Dining area adequate. Bed is overused and nonsupportive. It moved and jiggled with every movement of sleepers. Porch furniture adequate. Repair needed for screens and screen doors to stop mosquitoes. Air conditioning fans and lights all worked except outside as noted. Overall weve had a good stay.

Great location

We love being at the end of the beach, it’s quiet and feels like the perfect getaway spot here during of off-season stay. The house is the perfect size for us and we’d stay here again in a heartbeat. Folly beach and the town were even better than we expected - all mom and pop shops and a great relaxed island vibe.

good but a few things

The good:The location and size of the house were perfect! The house was clean The bad: two screens in screened in porch were missing, the dishwasher didn't work well and there was a whirlybird attic ventilation unit on the roof that was making a tremendously loud screaming noise, I called the rental company and they said an HVAC tech was coming, not sure if that ever happened but is was irritating.

Rec weekend and spring break stay

Our stay was great, just what we needed for the occasion. My favorite part of the house was that you could be on the front porch and hear the ocean. There were several minor things that needed attention. The screened porch screens were ripped partially off or completely out so we were not able to sit on the porch with our dog without him being able to go out the ripped screen on door. Another small problem was the full bed was very loose and could use tightening up or replacement all together. The room with the full bed was very cramped and not a lot of closet space but was okay for the few days we were there. The bunk rooms were perfect for my older children. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook. The shower was updated and had great water pressure. If you possibly would like an early arrival be sure to request it early. When we went by the house it was clean and ready for our arrival but we just couldn’t get in. So ask early if there is even a possibility you may needed to get in early. One last thing, the house is very close to a beach access, but the beach at that access was very small and at high tide no beach. So if you are an all day beach goer you will need to explore other beach accesses. Over all our stay was great.

Most peaceful and relaxing vacation spot!

Cleanness was as expected, but there were a few (very few) noticeable things that anyone would easily overlook due to human error. The location was perfect and far away from all the tourist and chaos, that comes with kids and summer vacation. I felt almost like we had our own private beach, but with just a few other families around. Which with 2 young 14 year old girls it was heaven sent… as a mother I very much wanted to just relax, and this little diamond in the rough was the perfect thing for me as a mom bringing 4 children to the beach. Need to remind you, we had 214 year-old girls one 14 year old boy, and my adult son who is 23 years old. So the bunk beds were fantastic and allowed for the boys to sleep in one room and the girls in the other. The bunk beds mattresses were extremely comfortable based on the feedback from my children so that was a plus they all slept well. As for the larger room that my husband and I slept in, not as comfortable as the others, I would recommend replacing the mattress on that bed all together. It’s a bit worn out, and I would even recommend going to a queen size bed versus a full size bed. While we both slept reasonably OK, it’s still was a little difficult on certain nights to sleep with my husband because of his size. My husband is 6 foot one and about 240 pounds. To me, that’s an average male and he could’ve taken up the entire bed if I let him. I can say that the location was perfect, without a doubt for us all.

Location is tops

Overall a great stay. Just a short walk to the beach and lighthouse. The screened in porch was great. Plenty of extra blankets and towels. Could use a rug by the kitchen door so as not to track in sand, etc from outside we just put a beach towel near the door to wipe our feet on. Would stay at Katie’s Cottage again

mostly pleasant stay

We first stayed in this house 7 years ago with family, and decided to come back on our own for our honeymoon. Not much has changed with the property in that time, which is both a positive and a bit of a negative. Pros: -Inside the home was clean. -Very convenient access to the beach and the lighthouse trail. -Lovely view from the back deck of the marsh, especially at sunset. -Being towards the end of the street, the beach was less crowded. -Important utilities/amenities such as the air conditioner and shower worked perfectly. Cons: -Some of the appliances seemed like they need to be replaced. Even after filling up the fridge, turning it to the coldest setting and waiting the initial 24-hour adjustment period, items inside didn't seem to be as cold as they should be. The washer and dryer, which are located below the house in a room that is not weather-sealed, were covered in rust. -We didn't feel comfortable sitting on most of the outdoor furniture. The metal tables and chairs were rusty and chipping. The cushions on the screened in porch were stained. These items should be replaced. -The outside was visibly dingy in areas - it could use some cleaning/fresh paint. -This wasn't a problem for us this time since there were only two of us, but previously when we stayed, five people sharing one bathroom was tough.
