"Poor Golf Experience. We arrived at 530pm with the hope that we could have a drink at the golf clubhouse, only to be told the bar was closed and the staff were looking to kick out the current guests. Considering golfers were still on course, not what you would expect. The hotel was dated and only seemed to be interested in the health club side, where members were walking in and out of the restaurant area. No real bar, no atmosphere and morale of staff very low due to poor management. We waited...

"A grand hotel building set on a picturesque estate with very good parking. It is set quite of the beaten path and the lane leading to the car park area was quite bumpy, dirty and replete with potholes. The hotel is part of the Sure Collection which is Best Western's premier line. The décor was a little tired, especially the carpeting in the corridors, some of which seemed to have been cleaned but only on the main walkway areas. "The thermostats controlling the aircon/heaters were mounted directly in line with the heater outlets so that whenever the heater kicked in the thermostat immediately thought the room had reached the right temperature. This comical setup had been installed in our bedroom and also my sister's room. The name of the installers was, amazingly, printed on the units. The hotel management would be well advised to get the installers back to correct the locations of the thermostats - at no cost to...

"Was the only ones staying, lovely hotel quiet and clean. Bed was very hard and shower cubicle very small but breakfast was 100% worth the money. "
