"The property was very clean. There are plenty of towels and the kitchen is very well stocked. If you need an appliance, it's probably in the kitchen. The yard was well kept as well. The only down side was that it isn't as close to the water as we had expected. You can see the river, but to get to it, you basically need to drive. And the confederate flag flying on the beach is a little disconcerting. It deterred me from going down there."

"What a hidden gem of a place! A gorgeous river cottage overlooking the St James River. Grateful to be immersed in a natural rural atmosphere and also so close to many things to do both at the cottage and near Williamsburg. We swam, walked the beach, kayaked and fished! A magical sun rising over the StJames River takes one’s breathe away! I understand why people come back here. It’s a very special place. Reminds me of being on a lake which reminds me of my childhood! The Ferry is close, free...

"Wonderful place for family fun. From the arcade to the pool table, to the fire pit and the board games, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property was in a beautiful area, quiet and open. Phones and TVs were not a priority. The host was accessible and helpful, and the quarters were comfortable and clean. Wish we had more time to enjoy!! Highly recommend. Looking forward to visiting again in the near future!!"

"My son insisted that I write a 5 start review at least 4 times before we left. The house was spacious, comfortable and had everything we needed to make our own meals including a birthday cake. The view is obviously the highlight here and it was delightful to sit on the deck by the water. The kids loved the birds especially the goslings and great blue herons. They enjoyed picking up unique rocks and shells along the beach and my son patrolled the lawn daily with his colonial riffle. The ferry was...

"The hotel is located in an area close to many things. The cleanliness of the room was not good; one of the bed blankets had blood on it, as if it hadn't been changed. We were tired and didn’t have the energy to go to the main lobby to ask for a room change, so we opted to just request a clean sheet. There was hair in the bathtub, which makes me think it wasn’t cleaned very well. The beds were comfortable, but I don’t think they are queen size; they seem more like full size because they’re small....
