"Property was maintained beautifully. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Very clean and orderly house. House flies kept appearing, however. Lots of books and games to entertain you. Fully equipped kitchen is a plus. Easy access to Thomas and Davis by car, or Thomas by foot path.The furnace fan motor was so loud the floor vibrated. Eventually noise disappeared. "We’ve been coming to Davis for a long time but this was our first time staying in Black Bear. The Bear Lair was perfect for our stay. Clean, well decorated, well equipped kitchen, very comfortable beds, and plenty of firewood. The central location was great as we bounced between Dolly Sods, Timberline, White Grass and downtown Davis. Abby was super responsive and accommodating. We definitely plan to return. "
