Elizabeth Cottage, Deal

Elizabeth Cottage is a delightful period property nestled in the heart of the conservation area of the pretty Georgian town of Deal and the perfect holiday home for couples or a small family. The cosy sitting room has a wood burner, the kitchen leads onto a cute little courtyard and upstairs are two tastefully decorated bedrooms and shower room. Situated in a quiet side street just off the main promenade and beach, Elizabeth Cottage is also just a short stroll to the buzzing high street with its delis, boutique shops, antiques shops, cafes and restaurants. Deal Castle is reached via a gentle stroll along the promenade and further coastal walking takes you through Walmer and Kingsdown to the lovely Zetland Arms, one of the few UK public houses on a beach, with views of the iconic white cliffs.

Disappointed

Excellent location and v good experience with Keepers Cottages. Property disappointing. Living room tired and chatter less. Kitchen poorly equipped, and owners clutter in cupboards. Bedrooms were charming, but beds creaked. Bathroom adequate. Annoying clicking constantly in central heating system.

Beautiful cottage in an ideal location in need of a bit of TLC

We had a wonderful time at Elizabeth Cottage. It’s in a perfect location: close to the shops, close to the beach, right in the heart of the lovely conservation area. The cottage is very nicely decorated. Two great double rooms. A small but cosy living room and a fantastic kitchen with everything you need. As stated in the description, these are exceptionally steep stairs and our 4 yo struggled a bit. While we were staying there, we noticed some damp patches on ceilings and walls. We soon realised that this was because of a leak from the bathroom which meant we couldn’t use the shower on our second day as water was pouring through the ceiling. This was a shame because otherwise we had a brilliant time there.

Perfect location by the beach

A lovely period cottage by the sea. Cosy and comfortable and very clean. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen while perfectly usable but for self catering had limited cooking equipment which is fine if you intend to eat out. The cottage itself was warm with the added bonus of a log burner. My only criticism is that the combi boiler in the top bedroom kicks in throughout the night even when switched off at the thermostat, resulting in a very disturbed sleep. I would definitely choose to stay with keepers cottages again.

Well located

Well located. Comfortable and cosy. Disappointed that WiFi was not working. Lack of instructions re dongle meant that a long time was spent trying to work it out and then it was very sketchy. Lack of instructions re central heating.
