  • One of the northernmost towns along the coast in North Carolina, Duck is an idyllic town on the shores of the Currituck Sound. This shot was taken from the town's boardwalk while looking West over the sounds. It is advisable to visit the location in Winter as that is off season - so you can spend more time taking in the beauty of the North Carolina coastline and also sunsets are usually much more picturesque around the time owing to the cooler temperatures and lower amount of atmospheric haze. Plenty of things around Duck to see. Further north, there is the Currituck Lighthouse where you can climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse. North of Corolla, there is an area where you can drive along the coast on the sand - 4X4s a must. Here you can spot some Spanish Mustangs, horses out in the wild. If you're lucky, you can spot them running along the beach in the surf. I'd recommend taking a tour through the Corolla Wild Horse Fund - the money from the tours is used to help the wild horses in every which way possible and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Was very nice. House was clean and comfortable. Pool was excellent. We had a great time.

I would definitely recommend this property to friends. Great location and great and comfortable place to spend vacation.

Great Stay at Ocean's Grace

Our large family (10 adults/8 kids) stayed and Ocean's Grace and the consensus was that it was the nicest house we've stayed at. Great location (an easy walk to the beach access). Great open space on the top floor and easily accommodated our large family. A few of the other noteworthy pluses: - Nicely equipped kitchen, including two dishwashers and two coffee makers - Plenty of seating for large family meals - Great wrap around decks on all floors - Large pool easily accommodated our large party - Great beach, although it was the 4th of July week, the beach never felt crowded. I do suggest getting there by 9:00 or 10:00 if you'd like a spot close to the access point) - Two large gas BBQs and an extra charcoal BBQ easily handled our large meals - Very nice outdoor furniture by the pool and on the wrap around decks A few minor negatives: - Cleaning crew could have done a better job. Not dirty, but did note a few issues (some of the furniture hadn't been dusted in awhile and there was dog hair on the kitchen floor) - A few maintenance issue that should be addressed - While the pool was great, expect full sun throughout the day. There is covered seating outside the pool.

Love Ocean's Grace Home

Our family goes to OBX every other year for vacation and we have stayed in many different homes. This home was truly wonderful, the location, size of the home, pool, hot tub, etc. The great room on the top floor is huge! The pictures are true to life. The couch and two chairs on the main floor could use some updating and shade reduction curtains in the front of the house would be nice as the mornings get bright. We would definitely rent this home again!
