HGTV House! 2 Blocks to Beach- 2024 New Bathroom!

Welcome to Liberty on the Bay (featured on HGTVs Beachfront Bargain Hunt)

Our 4 bedroom/2 bathroom (sleeps 10) stunner includes original hardwood floors, a fully updated kitchen, and two outdoor showers. The beautiful front porch is perfect for people-watching or simply escape to the private backyard to relax under the magnolia tree. This spacious house is a quick 5-minute stroll to either the historic town or the beach.

The backyard has a huge spacious deck with a great seating area, outdoor dining table for 6, a charcoal grill and two outdoor showers!
This is a no smoking property and we do not accept pets at this time.


The living area comprises of a large, sunny and airy spaces and the entire house is equipped with Central A/C and WiFi.

The spacious kitchen (with brand new island and granite countertops - pictures coming) and adjoining back room features a washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, microwave, fridge with freezer, 4 hob electric stove with separate oven plus extractor fan.

There is a good sized fully tiled family bathroom.

All bedrooms have a closet as well as a chest of draws for extra storage. Bedding (linen) is included. House towels are included but please note that Beach Towels are NOT so please bring your own.

All windows have curtains and are double glazed for great heat and noise insulation.

The backyard has a huge spacious deck with a great seating area, outdoor dining table for 6, a wooden picnic table, a charcoal grill and two outdoor showers!

There is free parking in front of the house on an extremely quiet and historically safe road.

This is a no smoking property. We also do not accept pets at this time.

Great spot in Cape Charles

We stayed in this home for a long weekend with another family. The house and surrounding neighborhood were charming. We had a short walk to the park, beach and downtown, everything was very convenient. The kids loved the outdoor shower and firepit. This home is great for a trip with friends - plenty of bedrooms and room for the kids to play inside and outside. Would definitely recommend this home!

Perfect family property!

This house was perfect for my family’s short trip to Cape Charles! It was close enough to the beach that even the two year old twins could walk. Everything was clean, beds were comfortable, plenty of space for all of us. We really enjoyed our stay!

Great Location

Clean, well equipped, everything you need. Only two blocks from the beach and to Mason St make it convenient to everything. We had a great time. The beach at CC is ideal for young kids.

Beautiful Home and Amazing Location

We rented this property for a week for family vacation. There were 6 of us total and we had plenty of room. The house was clean and decorated beautifully. The kitchen had everything we needed and the beds were super comfortable. The house is literally a 5 minute walk from the beach and a 5 minute walk, or less, to the downtown area. The water at the beach was calm and remained shallow and the beach was populated with mostly families but never felt over crowded. Definitely an ideal property for families with young children and those who value a small beach town feel. The host was kind and responsive. We hope to return in the future!

Overnight in Cape Charles

Overall very nice place. Very clean. Kitchen was beautiful. Living room area was large and comfortable. Wish it had been more than 50 degrees inside the house when we arrived but other than that it was a great stay.

Cozy Winter Weekend

What a sweet, lovely home! We loved our stay at Liberty on the Bay! It was a cold, sometimes rainy weekend, but we were snug in our completely renovated beach house. The first night, we noticed the sunset from our porch and walked the quick 2 blocks to the beach in plenty of time to soak it in. House is generously stocked; everything we needed was there. Comfy beds and linens. Towels were plush. I imagine it's even better in the summer, but we thoroughly enjoyed our time. Chris was super responsive any time we had questions. Highly recommend!

60th Birthday Trip

We visited Cape Charles for my mom’s 60th birthday and even though it was just for one night we had such a great experience! The house was in the perfect location and let us easily explore the beach, restaurants and shops in foot. Also we enjoyed the backyard space which was the perfect spot to end the days celebration around the fire. It was perfect for 4 couples but will definitely return with our children for a family trip sometime soon!

Lovely getaway

We had a wonderful week at Liberty on the Bay. House is perfect location for walking to beach or town. Backyard is adorable. Owners were very responsive and provided good information. We stayed during a heat wave and COVID, so not your typical Cape Charles experience. But the individual AC units in each room kept the house cool despite the blazing heat outside. Clean house. Bedrooms are all close to each other, and one bathroom upstairs for sharing, are only "downsides." But outdoor shower(s), and bathroom downstairs, so no problem with access, just can hear everyone. Thank you!

Wonderful Week in Cape Charles!

We had a lovely stay at Liberty by the Bay! The house is beautiful, sparkling clean, and well-appointed. The location is PERFECT - 2 blocks to the beach and 2 blocks to the commercial street. We wouldn’t hesitate book again if we are lucky enough to find this great home available for our next trip!

Clean spacious home in Cape Charles

This was our first stay at Liberty on the Bay and we were not disappointed by the property! The host was very responsive and accommodating--highly recommend and look forward to returning in the spring!
