"We had a very relaxing stay at this property which was perfect for us - an elderly couple. We had everything we needed and fantastic views. We stayed 4 days and cooked every night. The kitchen was very well stocked. The water pressure could have been better, but we managed. It was so quiet & peaceful that we hated to leave!"

"Fell in love with this cabin. So peaceful and quiet especially with the flow of the creek in the background. Didn't have the opportunity to hear rain on the tin roof but it was so relaxing. Also the sauna was awesome!! Definitely plan to return maybe some time in the fall."

"This cabin was clean, spacious, quiet, perfect for a weekend getaway. There was plenty of room for our dog to play. Our host was very friendly and accommodating. I wish we could have stayed longer. "

"To start its a storage building not a tiny cabin. It looks like host or someone is staying there while they are working on house next door. So close you can see in windows. He was working that day, so no peace and quiet. Air didnt cool. Stayed 5 hours and went home. Worst birthday gift ever. Dont waste your time or money."

"Beautifully renovated house with a gorgeous view. It’s not far from the road, but situated in such a way that it’s extremely private. The stream made for some really fun waddling, and the waterfall makes you want to spend every minute on the deck. It’s close enough to Pilot Mountain and Hanging rock that we could spend the day hiking and come back to the hot tub and a drink on the deck. Small rambunctious children need close supervision, but our toddler did great and had a blast."

"We enjoyed our stay in the cabin! The cabin was well equipped with all necessities. It was nice sitting in the rocking chairs and swing on the front porch and looking out into the woods from the back. Only problem was the mosquitos but there was a can of OFF under the bathroom sink! Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a relaxing and calm vacation that is in close proximity to state park with hiking trails. 20 minute drive to Walmart but it seemed faster."

"This is the cutest cottage with all the amenities you could ask for. The house is very clean and decorated so special. The hostess has thought of everything you could possibly need. She also keeps in touch in case you need anything. "

"This property was incredible. Clean, spacious, perfectly set up for guests, no details left out. Owner and property manager were very responsive. One thing I wish we'd known - the drive up to the house is VERY long and steep, lots of switch backs. It's very passable, but you should know you're driving .4 miles up, you're not going in the wrong direction! Also, there were no instructions for operating the hot tub, one of the main highlights of the property. The property manager tried very...

"My siblings and I were there from Missouri for my father’s Celebration of Life. The Dan River property was just what the doctor ordered: peaceful and serene. The property is a perfect private hideaway with room to move and think. The home housed myself and my five siblings comfortably…very homey with loads of charm and character. I hope this property is available every time I plan to visit the Ararat area!"
