"A modern bathroom in a 14th century hotel was definitely not expected. WiFi worked in the room. The staff were friendly and efficient. "The property seems to be family owned and seemed to be run a bit slap dash. The pictures online have had some photo shopping and first impressions were a bit of a letdown. Staff were thin on the ground and some were inexperienced in hospitality. "We received a lovely warm welcome. Lovely hotel. Nice location close to the beach. Lovely comfortable rooms with small en suite bathroom. Big plus for me was the kettle with plenty of tea, coffee and milk in the room. Will definitely book again when coming to Devon."

My only gripe was that although it is common with hotel chains for breakfast to be extra, when staying in a Bed & Breakfast I expect Breakfast to be included in the price when booking and not as an extra. The sign above the door says Bed &Breakfast and that’s what I expect when I book."

For the room we had, there was a very bright security light from the neighbouring property up the hill, and the light shone onto the thin curtains of our room, and when the tree branches moved inbetween it created quite a light show in our room.
