"Wanted to spend a weekend somewhere we'd never been. The apartment we stayed in offered the ability to be able to fix our own meals, sleep in comfort and be walking distance from a multi-flavor soft ice cream shop. We were from 2 hours away. Visited the Benezette Elk Center as well as some of the Elk viewing areas (though we didn't expect to see any, as it was the wrong time of day and season). We also took a short hike. "Yes, it’s a beautiful place along the creek. This is our third year. The only negative is on the other side of the 13 acres. There are now trailers up there and Thursday evening when we were relaxing we were greeted by the back up alarm of the skid steer spreading stone, and dogs barking. It took our quiet evening and made it not peaceful. I know work must go on but not that late of a day but yes, we will be back. Hopefully it will remain as private as it has always been in the past. "We were not there fifteen minutes when heard a bugle and saw a bull The setting of the cabin is beatiful. Cabin is comfortable and we quiet nights sleep. The fire pit is to die for. We will certainly seek a return visit if the opprotunity should arise."

"Very relaxing weekend! We had great weather and could enjoy the beautiful deck and listened to the babbling creek. Enjoyed an evening fire. Beds were comfortable, sheets and towels were clean. Kitchen had everything we needed. This was our 2nd time at this house and we’ll be back. There isn’t anything close by to do and that’s how we wanted it. "

"This was a great location for all we planned on seeing in this section of Pennsylvania. The home was very clean and neat; roomy and nice design; had everything you would need to prepare meals; quiet and peaceful backyard. We saw an Eagle, a Blue Heron and a Kingfisher at the creek. The beds were very comfortable. We would definitely visit again if we are back in the PA Wilds."

"The Cabin was clean and spacious. Perfect for a couple. The outdoor space was private and we enjoyed a nice camp fire with the wood provided. We were close to the Elk Visitors Center. Saw the Elk heard twice at the Viewing Area during our stay. We will stay there again next time we visit Benezette. Highly recommend the Hillbilly Hilton."

"We stayed in the tree house because of it's location on the Elk County Trail of Dreams. As soon as we parked we were welcomed with the sounds of a nearby stream. The kids enjoyed exploring nature and being secluded. We even learned to enjoy swaying back and forth through a brief thunderstorm. It is a legitimate tree house. With all the natural charm it's easy to forget your only 30 seconds away from the Elk Life Store. There was planting of SxS/ATV traffic going by, but that's why we were there....
