"What a stay expensive but very nice "

"Lovely surroundings. Our room was cozy. Nicely decorated but carpet could have benefited from a shampoo. En suite very small. Shower small if you are not very thin! Window seat only sitting option which was ok if not closing curtains Lovely food in the evening. Breakfast average and not great selection for continental. All in all though we would definitely return but would book larger room"

"Very friendly staff. The surrounding is very quiet and beautiful. Just 8-10 minutes from the Durham town centtre by a cab. Breakfast is good! it’s an old property, but very well maintained. What stands out is the service. Every staff you meet are friendly. The hotel really seem to love their guests. "

"Clean room, even though at the back you could hear the road traffic with the windows open. Breakfast in the room was good. For me only comment is that the mattress on the bed was too soft & slightly lumpy for me."

"The hotel staff were lovely, we were upgraded to a deluxe room with a hot tub, as it was my partners 50th birthday. Also a lovely touch, a bottle of prosecco waiting in the room with a card. "
