I wish to formally report an extremely serious and unacceptable situation that occurred upon arriving at the hotel booked through Expedia.
At 8:00 p.m., when we arrived, there was no one at reception and we were left waiting without assistance. During this time, a completely intoxicated man physically assaulted me with two punches, without any provocation whatsoever. All of this happened with no hotel staff present and with absolutely no security measures in place. Only when I started shouting did the receptionist come out.
The reservation was for two people. The second guest, a woman, has suffered a serious anxiety episode as a result of the assault, completely ruining the trip.
Due to fear and the total lack of safety, we will not continue with the stay. We will spend only the first night, but the remaining four nights will not be used because this is not a safe place.
This is NOT a voluntary cancellation. It is a serious breach of the minimum safety conditions by the accommodation. I demand a full refund, or at the very least a full refund of the unused nights, as well as immediate action from Expedia and the hotel.
I expect an urgent response that reflects the seriousness of what occurred.
