We travelled from South Australia, leaving at 8:00 AM and driving for over 10 hours before arriving at the hotel around 9:30 PM. Although payment had been made and I received a confirmation SMS (attached), the key box displayed “invalid code.”
Following the instructions on the key box, we called security and waited about 10 minutes for the security officer to arrive. Unfortunately, when he opened the box, there was no key left for us. He mentioned this was not the first time—similar issues had occurred the previous day. He then had to call the reception staff, and we waited further until she arrived.
We finally received our room key at around 10:30 PM—an hour after arrival and after a long day of travel with two very tired young children. This experience was extremely disappointing, especially during the New Year period.
I sent an email to the hotel manager about the above incident on 7th Jan but never got a response as of today. This hotel is completely unorganized and irresponsive.
