Disappointing Check-In Experience Despite Prepaid Reservation
We had a fully prepaid reservation through Expedia for a superior suite. However, upon arrival, the front desk staff insisted on charging my credit card again, even after I showed my ID and explained that the room was already paid for. Exhausted from the road, I didn’t argue and simply agreed to check into what turned out to be a regular room, not the suite I booked.
When I returned to address the error, the staff double-checked, admitted the mistake, apologized, and finally gave us the correct room. Unfortunately, the experience had already tainted my stay.
The suite itself was okay — renovated and comfortable — but it appeared to be one of the few updated rooms in the hotel. The rest of the property looks dated and quite worn. The pool was decent, though too cold to enjoy properly.
No compensation or meaningful apology was offered for the inconvenience. My funds were held for several days due to the attempted extra charge, even though the payment didn’t go through. Overall, this stay left me frustrated and disappointed. I would think twice before booking here again.
