"This stay was the highlight of our Scotland visit! Not only was the property incredible, but the entire staff truly made our visit amazing. Gorge was particularly great and went above and beyond with my Mom, who fell ill with a cold during our visit. "

"Great find. 5 mins up dual carriageway from Aviemore. Beautiful wee village. Bar full of locals. Always a good sign. Stayed with my dog. Very dog friendly. Good breakfast. Cooked to order, no buffet Will definitely be back with the misses."

"This was by far in all my travels to the UK (this was my 4th) the nicest, most comfortable, best all around hotel I stayed at. Staff was so incredibly friendly! Food was delicious (we had three breakfasts and one dinner there). In three nights I got hooked on the heated towel rack and now I’m looking to get one for home!"

"What a stunning place! We’ve been driving around Scotland for a week this is the only place we said we’d come back and stay as a base to travel from. Our room was enormous, such a bonus to have a kitchen. Beautiful gardens. Thank you to the owners!"

"Property was very well located along the Ness River. It is very quaint with a steep staircase. Only take an overnight bag inside! Unfortunately the view from our room was ugly - lots of black plastic out there - which was disappointing."

"The guest house is well located, clean and spacious. We never met anyone involved in running the place, and were surprised when no one answered the door bell when we arrived. In time we discovered an envelope containing our room key, peeking out from under and behind the outside door."

"It‘s a real pub-hotel, with some noises and simple but adequate rooms. But the owner and his team: they make the stay like you are in a 5 star hotel. They are supportive, communicative, have patience with customers who don‘t have fluent language skills and they are friendly at all times. It was a delight to stay at the Smithton. "

"The hotel is well located in walking distance of the city centre and some nice places to eat. The rooms are small and comparatively expensive but this is the UK where everything is over-priced. The restaurant is nice and the staff super helpful- they made sure I was able to use a large, thickly carpeted room to do a 90 minute yoga session uninterrupted. "
