"This hotel was great! From check in to departure, the staff were friendly and helpful. They offered to upgrade our room, just because. The rooms were very nice, clean and comfy. The area around the hotel was nice and there is plenty to do within walking distance.The only negative thing I would mention related to the property is that I would never eat at the restaurant connected with the hotel again. When we arrived, they put us at a table at the entry that had two floor vents shooting cold air...

"Wow!!! What an amazing trip my husband and I had visiting Banff and staying in the Fairmont Gold in Banff Springs. The staff truly roll out the red carpet and made a very memorable experience. The food was great and the spa was lovely!"

"Great front desk staff. Brought robes quickly as none were in room. Great location. A bit of a trek to the pools and would be lovely if there was some quiet hours in one if the pools. Delicious cinnamon buns from the bakery! "

"My wife and I stayed here for her birthday. The Otter team went above and beyond to make it special. The hotel is really nicely designed, and everything is clean and fresh. Staff are very friendly and the hot rooftop pools are a really nice feature. Room was clean and had a great aesthetic and view of the mountains. It’s very walkable to downtown strip of Banff, at about 15 to 20 mins, great to burn off the good eating. Area is quiet next to the hotel and very accessible to get out and head...

"The room was great. The only issue with the room, was the only place to sit in the room was the bed. The internet was not great, but functional. The room advertised a pool and a hot tub, but they were actually across the street at a different property. "

"Disappointing second stay at Johnston Canyon. Stayed here in September, and loved everything about the place. This time I booked a smaller cabin, and although it was cute, there were a few annoying things. After check in, I tried to make coffee but the lid on the coffee pot was broken, and fell off, and the coffee went everywhere. The girl from housekeeping turned up quickly (thankfully) with another coffee pot and helped me clear up. The next issue was have to listen to builders working on...

"The location is good. It’s in the middle of Banff. You could take a very inexpensive bus into town if you didn’t want to walk. . It needed tender, loving care to make it excellent. The staff was great!"
