  • Perched on a private ridge overlooking Coral Bay with easy access on a private road, this 2-bedroom and 3-bath home with a pool is the perfect home base for your St. John vacation. The 2nd bedroom has a private, exterior entrance. While there are many wonderful restaurants and bars in the area, the house has a modern kitchen and an outdoor grill for preparing home-cooked meals to be eaten in nice spaces to enjoy views of Coral Bay. You will need a 4WD vehicle (Jeep or similar vehicle) for this property. The house is a short drive to Northshore Beaches, Coral Bay restaurants, National Park Hiking Trails, and grocery store. It is a 25-minute drive to Cruz Bay. Not recommended for children under 10 years old. Must be 25 years old or older to rent this property.

    Please note that the second bedroom/suite, located on the lower level, is separate from the main floor with its own entrance. Also, the pull-out bed is located in the living room, which is well-ventilated, and there is also an air conditioning unit in the living room. Both bedrooms have air conditioning units.

    You will be asked to sign a rental agreement that will be due within 7 days of receipt. This agreement is uploaded here for you to see and will be emailed to you personally after booking. It is important to understand that the rental agreement and our signed approval is necessary to bind the reservation.

    Please note that there is an exterior security camera for your and the property's protection located at the front of the house, facing the driveway.

Great place for 2 couples. Fully stocked kitchen, beautiful views, beautiful pool. Easy drive to Maho Beach. We have stayed at this home numerous times and we will return.

Absolutely stunning home! Clean, quiet and modern, with so many amenities for an incredible vacation. It was a worry free stay knowing we had a generator and filtered water system. They have beach chairs, coolers, ice packs and towels for easy beach days. AND that pool with a view of beautiful Coral Bay. The house is a 2 minute drive to a grocery store and several dinner options. This is a must stay! We can't wait to come back!

Beautiful place in Coral Bay! Recommend renting a jeep. Everything about the house was amazing from the easy check in, snack and drinks left for us, to coolers, chairs, umbrella and snorkel stuff available. Would stay here again.

On a whim! very clean, well stocked, very comfortable and beautiful. We enjoyed the porch and pool both with great views. Love the extra touches, music playing on our arrival. Dwight was a text away and replied promptly. We enjoyed the outside speakers in the evenings. Nothing disappointing here!

On A Whim was the perfect get away! The view is spectacular. The pool and deck is where the family hung out. The bed was so comfortable. The location was super convenient. I hope to return someday! Thank you!

The home is exactly as pictured and described. This was our first time on the island and we enjoyed Coral Bay. We rented a Jeep and easily found the villa on the first day. Dwight was very helpful with directions and useful information about the home and island. The home was impeccably cleaned and we enjoyed the amenities provided.

Already dreaming of returning

This was one of the absolute best stays and experiences I’ve ever had at a rental property. Communication was excellent, amenities were excellent, and the location was close to restaurants and grocery stores but also felt private. It was the perfect way to end our anniversary trip and we can’t wait to return!

Peaceful getaway with everything we needed

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was well organized and had everything we needed. I loved starting my day relaxing on the deck with a view of Cruz Bay and then at night the view of the stars from the pool area was amazing.

We loved our stay at On a Whim. So many little thoughtful details are taken care of. From detailed guide books and directions to comfy beach chairs and luxury towels this property has thought of it all. We hope to return someday!

Had an amazing time with family. Home is beautiful and clean and well stocked. Easy location close to coral bay and quick access to north shore beaches. Great communication with proprty manager made access a breeze.

Perfect anniversary getaway

Stayed here for our 10 year anniversary and it was absolutely amazing. Private and peaceful, away from the chaos of the harbor, but still within 15min of the best beaches we’ve ever been to. After a long day of hiking and beaches, the private pool was the perfect way to unwind. We will absolutely be coming back!

Beautiful spot on St John

The property is amazing and was well equipped. Check in process was easy and the property manager was responsive and engaged. Restaurants and beaches are just a short drive but the house is quiet and secluded. We will be back!

Perfect view!

Perfect location, perfect home, and great communication! This is our 4th time to the island and first time staying in this area. The view was beautiful, and the location was perfect! Just a short drive to all of the beautiful beaches! Home was perfectly stocked with the necessities plus more! Hope to be back soon! Thanks again!

Nice, updated, clean house with great views on a more secluded and quiet part of the island. Sitting on the covered outdoor patio with its views and natural breeze was delightful, so much so that we ate every meal out there. The pool was also a great place to relax (views again), especially after a beach/boating day. An updated kitchen was very helpful as well. Everything worked in the house. Overall, a very relaxing place to stay on St. John’s

Perfect Quiet Location

My husband and I were looking for a quiet spot near Coral Bay for our 10 year anniversary. On a Whim was perfect! The house was fully stocked with everything. The pool and view were amazing. The driveway was easy to access (in comparison to others on the island).

Perfect vacation rental!

Dwight had outstanding communication before, during, and after our stay. House and grounds were even better than expected. Absolutely loved this place and can’t wait to return. Pool is on the north side of house and doesn’t get too warm. You can lay out in sunshine there but water isn’t the warmest. Great place!!!
