Nightmare after long day of travel
Arrived at home around 8:30 pm. House is at the end of culdesac. You have to walk down steep hill. Pitch black no lights to see where you are going if you arrive at night. Walking down we were met by 2 large dogs barking. Couldn’t see if they were contained or not. There seemed to be someone in our place according to the directions I received and the sign at the top of the hill. Someone in the home. We yelled to the person inside with dogs barking. Were told by man it was a residence. We tried getting a hold of host-no avail. Luckily the taxi driver stayed with us. A local man asked to see the picture of the place we rented. We showed him the pictures and he confirmed we were at the right place. We walked down the hill again, and began yelling for the man to come out again and speak with us. Now understand this has been 45 minutes to an hour after we arrived in the pitch dark. He came out and told us the path to the rental was by a tree that had junk laying around the yard. When we went into the home, it was dirty, dirty sheets crumbled in a chair. Mattress in the living room another on the wall in the bedroom, paint buckets in the bedroom, and dirty and stained pillows. Called host, still no answer. VRBO customer support reached her.
