Many restaurants are nearby. Kyoto station is about a 15 minute taxi ride. The staff is excellent and helpful. The property is meticulously maintained. I would skip the restaurant for dinner. The food is tasty but the portions are small even by Japan standards. We did not eat breakfast there. We would stay here...

"We had a very comfortable 5 nights in a two bedroom suite. The suite was large, very clean and equipped with good quality furniture and appliances. The beds were very comfortable. The area was safe, close to a number of convenience stores, only five min walking distance to a train station and within walking distance to many restaurants. "Small 12 room hotel located in a nice quiet area but still close and walkable to many of the touristy areas. Beautiful room and the shower/bath was truly a spa like experience. Bed was very nice as well. Get the Japanese breakfast served in your room at least once. It was a memorable meal. "

"Excellent hotel, with large, well-appointed rooms in an area that is convenient for accessing things in Kyoto. The hotel staff members were excellent, so friendly and helpful. I forgot to make a dinner reservation for my first night in Kyoto, and the two ladies working the front desk called five places for me, and the one I visited was recommended by the hotel staff member and was incredible! The hotel also has a nice lounge. Great stay!"
