The only thing is that is on a quiet neighborhood so it's like 20 minute walk to the canal and Nishiki market but still centric enough. Also, the futon sounds like a good idea until the second night and your hips are dying...just saying. It's not as easy as you think if you are 35 or older..."

"This is the perfect place for an authentic Japanese experience. The staff are wonderful and the meals are superb. Tranquil surroundings with a 5 star multi-course meals each day for breakfast and dinner. The sauna and hot baths were great for winding down after a day of touring. Touring was easy because bus lines and train lines are nearby. We were sorry to leave the Tea House and really hope to return some day. "

"We LOVED this place. It was very modern and spacious. The bathing space looked brand spanken new, with a beautiful shower / tub and sink. That was separate from the bathroom, which had a wonderful bidet style toilet. Hard to get laundry done because of the crowds and a few machines out of order, coffee machines out of order, breakfast area very busy. I guess to be expected but perhaps more maintenance during these times might help keep things flowing a little better. "

"The bar was a peaceful place to relax and enjoy a drink after a full day out. It was situated in a perfect location being next to the subway station. We had the opportunity to experience the local feel of the place and to also enjoy the 20-30 minute walk to Potoncho alley for a completely different vibe. Catching the subway train 4 stops to kyoto station was easy for the day tour meeting-point. We were so comfortable here and wish we'd extended our stay. We will definitely be recommending Noku...
