I suspect it depends on whether the students in neighbouring accommodation blocks are around, so perhaps factor that into your decision. "We had a room with double and single bed. It was very clean - couldn't fault that. I felt it was in a rather run down and ugly location - wouldn't ever return to that area of Sheffield. The view from our window was terrible - made area look derelict. So many things in the room were dated and chipped, including paintwork and had seen better days. The aircon simply did not work despite three of us trying. Fortunately, the window opened, though even with it open, the room remained very stuffy...

"The hotel is looking a bit tired and in need of an update. The room was fine...no safe, furniture a bit tatty and some black mould around the bath/shower. Only 1 dressing robe and slippers in the room, although booked as a couple. Room service was a bit random. The sandwiche that arrived was not great, with a tired piece of lettuce, 2 small tomatoes and some tortilla chips. Breakfast was again fine but nothing to write home about. The hot food had the air of being put out for the opening...

"The room did not have the ability to access Netflix or other streaming services. When I contacted reception, I was informed that the hotel had not yet set up the Chromecast functionality, so streaming was unavailable. The air conditioning was also very noisy, with the motor producing a constant whining sound, which was disruptive and had to be turned off especially during sleep. "The room was clean and quiet and the staff helpful. It was very hot and as there was no aircon we were grateful for the fan provided. We had tea and coffee provided but no kettle or spoons. A kettle was delivered quickly when we asked for one. We have stayed in this hotel before and would stay again as it is good value for the price."

"This hotel really did represent value for money on a weekend where the city was busy due to a famous comedian performing. The hotel is central and only a five minute walk from the train station. Staff helpful, communal spaces lovely for a drink in the evening. Room was roomy shower powerful with lovely toiletries provided - only one bath towel provided for 2 of us but that will have been an oversight and guess what we coped. "AVOID! On arrival we got our keys from the keylock which was a simple process. When entering the apartment it completely stunk of cigs and w - as if people had been in there for days smoking. Even aside from the foul smell the place is very run down, lots of marks and stains on the walls etc. The glass hob surface had a large chip/crack on it which you could easily cut yourself of. A number is given to contact and says it's staffed until 8pm. We arrived about 8:30 but messaged basically...
