Sound carries surprisingly well over the ocean.

Hot Tub Rules
The hot tub is professionally maintained and cleaned on Wednesdays and Saturdays during the operating season for guest comfort and water quality.

Rules:
• Rinse before use
• No glass in or around the hot tub
• Keep the cover secured when not in use

Damage / misuse charges:
• $100 excess cleaning fee
• $500 damaged cover replacement fee

Use of the hot tub acknowledges acceptance of inherent risk.

Property Care
Please treat Salt & Sand like the special beach home it is.

Please note:
• Cargo lift is not guest accessible
• The home uses public water and a septic system; normal household use is perfectly fine, but only toilet paper should be flushed to keep everything running smoothly
• Keep doors and windows closed when HVAC is running
• For guest safety and fire prevention, propane grills and other open-flame cooking devices are not permitted on decks, under the carport, or anywhere attached to or immediately adjacent to the home.

Beach / Local Compliance
Dare County beach rules apply:
• No overnight beach gear left on the beach after 8 PM (chairs, tents, toys, etc. may be removed)
• Guests are responsible for observing current beach and surf conditions

Wildlife / Environment
This is coastal North Carolina.

That means occasional bugs, wildlife sightings, changing weather, and marine life activity—all part of authentic beach life.

Travel Protection / Cancellations
Beach weather, travel interruptions, and life happen.

We strongly recommend purchasing VRBO travel insurance for additional protection, as cancellation terms apply according to the booking policy selected at checkout.

Safety
For guest safety, the home is equipped with smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors.
Exterior cameras monitor the front door, driveway, lift area, and ocean-facing side of the house.
