"We arrived the tv in the room didn’t work we were told it was due to a storm but later found out it was the control box. That was it left to our own devices no sorry we were told free drinks were offered but we didn’t receive anything. At breakfast there wasn’t enough room so again left to our own devices to find seating in the cold bar. We were asked at breakfast if the room needed service or a drink we said service but got neither. All in all the staff could do better. "

"Great stay in a great pub/inn in a lovely village. Originally we were looking for somewhere near York and picked this place at random – so got lucky. Decent-sized, comfortable room, the beer 'proper' Yorkshire, and the food was excellent throughout – we could have eaten almost amything on the quite extensive menu. "I was a walker arriving at the Nag's Head at 15.30. I was warmly received and shown to my very comfortable room. Although the restaurant was closed on a Tuesday evening, i was provided with a wonderful Chinese meal at a very modest cost. I requested a continental breakfast which was fine. Pick Hill is a lovely small village with a long history, some of which is displayed in the ancient church. "

Staff were brilliant even down to the housekeeping. Room we had was really lovely, modern and a good size. Lots of space in bathroom and a great shower. Free parking was a real bonus. "I’ve stayed here many times for business and the breakfast is always good and the rooms always clean. I was here for 6 nights which has been my longest stay. What was really noticeable over a longer period was how EVERY staff member was so polite, helpful and friendly. "

"The hotel is in a great location and we enjoyed our stay. The only thing that left a mark was the bed, it was quite uncomfortable because it was not a double bed but one that was made up for two out of a single and what seemed to be a sort of pull out bed. That was the only minor thing during what was otherwise a lovely stay!! We did highlight to staff and hopefully they will upgrade the bed. Thank you to the staff who were brilliant !!!"

"Room was lovely, but the mattress was obviously old as it sagged in the middle. The hotel is right on a main road so a lot of noise and music playing till very late in the evening. It’s ok for an overnight stay but wouldn’t recommend longer"

Their website states that breakfast is made to order and I recall seeing it on the expedia page but then was notified a day before about where to go for food instead.
