Renters Must Be 25 years of age or older to rent.
This home is located on the front row of a little beach strip between Fort Travis and the North Jetty. Sun and Moon has a stocked kitchen that has everything you will need to make the perfect meals while on vacation. There is also WIFI for streaming channels on the Smart TV and for your entertainment. Bedroom one will have a king bed, bedroom two will have a queen bed and bedroom three will have 2 single beds. There will be a sofa bed in the living room to accommodate 2 people. This cabin also includes lots of books so you can sit out in the swing and read while enjoying the beautiful views. Downstairs, there is a charcoal BBQ pit so you can cook your favorite dish or your catch of the day! This home is within walking distance from the Historical Fort Travis Park and the North Jetty. Both places are good for fishing, crabbing, biking and walking. There is also a public boat launch two blocks from this beach house. When you are ready to go to the beach, it is just a few steps away!
Even when provided, internet access TV/cell service can be unreliable on the Bolivar Peninsula. We are a rural community. We apologize, but Bolivar Escapes cannot guarantee that these amenities will be working during your stay, and cannot offer refunds for disruption of these services. This home might have an outdoor camera(s) to monitor the exterior of the home. Any attempt at disabling, redirecting, or obscuring the camera(s) is prohibited and may result in the guest being evicted without refund of outstanding nights’ rent. If a home has a lift or elevator, it is not for the renter's use unless otherwise stated in comments or with permission from Bolivar Escapes.
We provide linens and bath towels in every house, and standard beds are made for your arrival. Linens will be provided in the home for all sleeper sofas, trundles, and pull-out bedding. Paper products, other than toilet tissue and paper towels, and cleaning supplies are not included.
There is a starter pack consisting of the items below. Please bring anything else you will need:
1 roll of paper towels
3 white kitchen trash bags
2 dishwasher tab (if applicable)
2 laundry tab (if applicable)
1 small dish soap
1 dish sponge
2 rolls of toilet tissue per bathroom
Small bar hand soap per bathroom
1 trial size of shampoo/conditioner per full bath
1 beauty bar per bath
Small salt and pepper
Small cooking oil
There will also be a bath towel set for each guest
Don't forget the beach towels, bug spray, and sunscreen! Once booked, log into your guest guide for instructions on your home, beach rentals and things to do on the Peninsula.
All of our homes are located at Crystal Beach/Port Bolivar/Gilchrist. Not Galveston.

Nice place

Thos is a nice house with a great location to beach. However, it needs some cross braxes underneath to keep it from swaying and stairs or a ramp going to beach. It is very steep and hard to get up the dunes. Also, it would be nice to know that there are rattlesnakes that are in the dunes, especially since there is no easy access over them. Otherwise, nice house and great location and views.

We (mostly) loved the Sun and Moon.

The first of the holiday (July 2nd through 5th is when we stayed) weekend was great. We enjoyed the quiet beach and were able to go back and forth from the beach to the property with ease and we had the best time. Then July 3rd hit and that’s when it was not so great. It was like someone snapped and the beach was full of loud families putting up tents on the beach. There was dozens of people camping in what is basically the house’s backyard. We could no longer enjoy the beach and there was no room for us to set up our canopy and chairs. There was even people coming across the dunes into the backyard! But they spoke zero English and it was impossible to convey to them that they weren’t supposed to be there. Just be warned, the area of the beach is awesome and the water is calm and perfect for the kids to swim and there’s great fishing, but if it’s a holiday…be prepared to have LOUD Hispanic music played all night long since you can camp on the beach for the cost of a $10 parking permit. If we were to stay here again, it definitely wouldn’t be on a holiday.

Great get away

Clean house with amenities for having a good time. They had everything we needed to cook,clean and we were able to enjoy an easy weekend. Very clean house and well stocked with essential items. It’s right on the beach and we enjoyed the way. Grass has tons of stickers so the kids couldn’t enjoy it much but the water more than made up for that. The property manager was friendly and responsive. We had a great weekend and would definitely use it again.

Perfect getaway

It had everything we needed. Plenty of room with a great view. Access to the beach was ok, but if you walk to the side some it’s a bit easier. Would definitely recommend to anyone to stay here.

Loved it!

We loved the location. We needed a break and this is exactly what we needed. The access to the beach was amazing, the beach was a little dirty but they cleaned it right up the next morning. The space was great for my family & the beds and everything was too. The only thing was we couldn’t get the TV / DVD to work to watch movies & the trash was overflown outside. But besides that will def come back and stay again :)

Week getaway

Overall good, as advertise, probably come back if I can get the family together all at once again. Path to the beach is tricky to crossover, look over the right there is a much easier way to access the but not handicap friendly. 4 stars on cleaninnes due to few roaches running around the kitchen, looks like is due for a spray. The 2nd tv in one of the rooms does not work, did not complaint to mgt because we weren't there to watch tv. It was 6 of us at times and it accommodate us just fine we never have to use the futon but been vinyl like material I imagine it must be hot to sleep in. Again overall we enjoy the stay a side from the minor problems around. Great view and having the beach steps away from the house is unbeatable.

Better than the pictures!!

We had such a wonderful time in this beach house. The house was spotless and the view, nothing could beat it, you open the living room windows and and the ocean is right there, crack the windows and hear the waves. We set out on our trip right before the coronavirus shutdown, even though we had to make some adjustments, this place did not disappoint! My son caught 30 fish and we pretty much had the beach to ourselves. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us, we are already making plans to return.

We absolutely loved this house! It was super close to the beach and clean. Only problem we had was overflowing trash and they handled it and were super polite. We’ll definitely be visiting again soon! It was quiet and perfect for a little getaway with the family.

Nice place, bad results

The house was very clean and well decorated. The beach was right over the sand bar. Highly disappointed in the fact that bed linens, towels, kitchen dish towels and toilet paper were not provided. This was only mentioned in the check in paperwork after we had already paid. We drove from Colorado with 5 people and had to use a large suitcase just for linens, etc. Not an ideal use of space for traveling hours in a car. The beach was trashy and not well cared for. We stayed over the 4th of July holiday and were unable to enjoy the beach because of the automobile traffic on the beach. This is not sound environmentally. Almost every imaginable spot was taken over by large groups, cars, tents and music. The following day, the beach was disgusting. MY wife and 2 teenage daughter brought bags down to collect trash so we could enjoy our last day. Apparently caring for the beach is not high on the list of priorities. We will not come back.

Perfection

My family and I loved the Sun and Moon. The location was perfect and away from the hussel of Galveston, just what we needed. There are many restaurants, grocery stores, and bait shops within a short drive. Thank you for providing a place for families that does not break the budget.

When I first arrived, there was trash all underneath the house and the trash cans were over flowing. As soon as I called the management they came and cleaned it up. When I went inside it was damp and smelled like wet dog. I'm assuming they cleaned carpets because the next day that was better. There was nowhere to store food so we kept all the groceries on the counter. There was barely enough room to get to the washer and dryer and and nowhere to put your laundry soap because the laundry room was full of supplies for working on the house. The first night the smoke alarm in the master bedroom started chirping. It was about 1:00 in the morning my husband had to climb on a chair and took him 10 minutes to get it to shut off. Woke everyone in the house up. The next night it went off again! So I called the management and they said they would send someone out but no one came. It chirped all day. That night my husband climbed up and disconnected it. It was hard wired. I also told them the light in the master was flickering when turned on. The next morning I finally got some undisturbed sleep. The next morning we were woke up at 7:30 by the guy mowing under the house! We also had to clean bathroom drawers which were totally gross so we could put our things in them. They had things like half a bottle of spilled face wash, hair, and a giant dead roach. I found the previous tenants flip flops under the bed. Some of the pillows were stained, which we knew because we paid extra for linens and to put them on ourselves. They were really cheap sheets andevery night the corners would come off. Be prepared to strip the beds yourself and put dishes away before you leave. Won't be back😥
