"Nice little house if you are looking for an escape from the day-to-day bustle. Ideal if you want to hang out and read. Basic accommodations in a rural neighborhood. Not much to do in town, accept visit the lighthouse. Bay access is not far on foot if you want to launch a canoe or kayak. Our only gripe was that AC is listed as an amenity but there were no AC units. Maybe they are available in the summer, but it was hot for half of our trip (mid April) and we could have used AC. "Very attentive when we needed them and beyond our expectations when we arrived at the house. Check in was so easy and our family had so much fun. We actually had a small wedding with the 13 of us and they had their private chef come and cook dinner for us - Chef Erica was the best! Everything came out amazing! The views, the water, fishing, biking, kayaking, pool, ping pong… game nights! We were able to do it all! And don’t forget the movie theater!"

"Our family of 4 came for a long weekend at Solomons Island, where we spent time as kids. The Retreat on the Patuxent is an ideal place to get away for peaceful relaxation, while being conveniently located near the restaurants and attractions at Solomons. My mom loved the upstairs bedroom/bathroom suite, and the downstairs bedrooms were spacious for me, my sister, and her husband. "We are not strangers to the area, my wife having grown up in the area, but each time we stay on the Chesapeake we feel at home. The Hideaway is so nice that you don't want to go back your actual home! It is furnished as if it is a year-round residence, no cheap or mismatched furniture and appliances. "The view was spectacular! It suited our needs and we overall loved the place and enjoyed our stay very much. For the price we paid we weren’t happy with the cleanliness when we got there. None of the furniture was very comfortable in the main family room. There were no cushions on some of the chairs and the furniture needed some attention! The outside needed a lot of attention as well. Even just a lawn would’ve been nice. But I will say we enjoyed ourselves very much and would come back again! "

"We were here for work, working 7 12 hour days. The owners or number listed are responsive, not that there were many questions but wanted to let them know we had arrived, and that garbage was ready to be taken out. It was nice to enjoy after 12 hours of work, the screened in porches are real nice, would be a really nice place for a family getaway, plenty of space to seat people for meals. We will stay here again if working in the area "
