The front desk lady could care less about us. The rest of staff were fine.
THE GOOD:
Location - great! In DT Monterey
Fireplace - great!
Room size - huge
Clean
Balcony -very nice but on a busy side street
Separate shower , large bath was nice
THE BAD:
Bed : too lumpy with too many layers of sheets - why?
TV : cheaper and not high def
Ambiance : pretty stark, cheap decore - owners cheaped out - why?
We stayed here several years back and there were no complaints at all. Maybe change of ownership or whatever. Seems like they are cutting corners when they should be improving quality. Afterall, the $600/night Portola is right across the street
