Your charming urban retreat in the heart of Canada’s capital Sunny, clean, quiet and ready for Royalty : ) great air quality, natural linens, lots of plants and spices, a real home away from home where you and your family will thrive.


SU CASA FEATURES

A sunny, charming open-concept kitchen/living area that invites you to gather together and share a meal and gather together for long conversations or watch your favourite shows and sports

A very comfortable antique sofa, that is over 100 years old, that is so supportive to sit or lay down on that it feels like the embrace of a wise friend.

The vintage Mid Century Modern Teak dinette set expands to seat 4 for you to share an intimate meal or use as a study/work nook. The living room has a lovely urban view of the King Kong bush in front of the bungalow that gives privacy and sanctuary for birds. Sometimes a whole flock will descend and it's magnificent.

A crisp bathroom with a great oversized tub and a powder room in the basement if you need it beside the laundry. Equipped with towels, hair dryer, shampoo and conditioner, and soap.

High-speed Wi-Fi keeps you connected throughout your stay. Stay cool or cozy with the efficient climate control system both heat and air conditioning.

Catch up on your favourite shows and movies on the flat-screen TV that you can sign into with your own log-ins for streaming services.

Full size washer and dryer & laundry pods available for your convenience.


SU CASA KITCHEN

Modern & inviting, a mix of country modern with tonnes of spices, plants, and open shelves. It's got lots of toys like a vita mix, instant pot/ air fryer, slow cooker, plenty of gadgets inviting culinary delights. We try to keep a few pantry staples for you to use as well.

We love to cook and you may too in this space, it's so cheery and welcoming. A modern fully equipped kitchen, bathed in sunlight, with everything you need to make a great meal or enjoy one ordered in and a great dishwasher to wash it all up after. A full range of cookware and utensils and plenty of space to store food, makes it easy to make a lovely meal to enjoy together and you can also just order in.

The kitchen island easily seats 6 with lots of space still for others to lean. The thick solid wood butcher’s easily accommodates another 6 to lean, cause it knows the party always ends up in the kitchen. It's a great spot to prepare a meal together or catch up with tea.

Dark curtains to block out the wonderful sunlight when you need to rest and sleep deeply.

The flex room with the glass doors to the back yard can be set up with a double bed or a sofa - if you would rather have the floor space for yoga and use it more as a studio. Just let us know what you would prefer.


SU CASA IS BOTH HOME & ART GALLERY

The open concept area is filled with my wonderful Chinese Abstract Artist teacher’s paintings and the line drawings that we collaborated on and some of my ceramic sculptures.

My paintings, vibrant colourful acrylics and water-colours adorn the rest of the house. My artwork is for sale should anything call to you. Please just take a photo of it and we can discuss the price.

GETTING AROUND

Public transportation is easily accessible, with bus stops nearby, ensuring you can explore the city with ease if you don’t want to drive. If you prefer to travel on foot, you'll be pleasantly surprised by how much you can discover within a short stroll.


FREE PARKING

You can easily park 3 or 4 cars for free if you don’t mind jockeying. And you are steps away from Ottawa’s wonderful comprehensive bike paths.

We're passionate about providing an exceptional stay for our guests and are honoured to share our home with you. We were a little nervous at first I must confess. It's been a wonderful refuge for friends and family over the years and has always cultivated harmony. It developed a wonderful energy and vibe and we’ve happily discovered that sharing it with guests has augmented its goodness.

Each of you infuses it with more life, warmth, inspiration and charm. You will find refuge here, a happy home where all its shelters thrive. Being blessed to find love recently we just don’t need two homes and are honoured to share this happy haven.

As a home designer and builder - I have had my architectural and interior design company for over 25 years mkdb I understand the importance of a solid nourishing home base that is comfortable, beautiful and convenient.

The Rideau River & Adawe Crossing pedestrian and cyclist bridge connects you to the historic neighborhood of Sandy Hill filled with charming historic homes, diplomat’s residences, and Le Cordon Bleu Ottawa Culinary Arts Institute, the only campus for Le Cordon Bleu in North America and Ottawa University’s magnificent campus features beautiful heritage architecture.

You have private access to the full main floor including 3 bedrooms, bathroom, open concept kitchen & family room.

The yard, laundry and powder room in the basement are shared with our long term tenant. You can park for free in the driveway.

ART GALLERY NOTES : My paintings, sculpture as well as my dear Sifu’s - Master Chan-Ky-Yut - sublime watercolour paintings and our collaborative line drawings adorn the walls cocooning us in kindness. If you see a piece you would like to own just send a photo & we can discuss it. Master Chan’s Art is not for sale but I can put you in touch with his agents.
