"The room smelt like cigarette smoke, the hand basin wasn’t wiped clean and there was pie pastry on the floor behind the bathroom door. The continental blanket on the single bed had awful marks on it as well. When I checked in they asked me to pay for a room I had pre-paid online."

"This is a charming character cottage, clean , comfortable and well-equipped. The only downside-and it was a disappointment that we had not been warned-was the very noisy roadworks on the boundary of the property which last until July 2026. Heavy machinery was operating all day, starting at 07.30, spoiling the tranquility of the garden."
