"Stafff was great. Campground was ok but turned into a party zone at night. Music screaming yelling slamming doors constantly. I ppacked up and left for a hotel at 1 am. Party on both ends was going strong. "

"Our trip was fantastic. We had a few questions when we checked in and Dean/Team were very helpful and informative. We spent the majority of our time in the theater and it was all you could ask for. We plan on making this our annual house for our yearly guys weekend. "

"My kids, grandkids ages 8-17 stayed for 4 days in December. It was nice that the house was decorated. We enjoyed the hot tub and the ping pong table. We visited the Farnsworth House nearby which was really interesting!"

"The property was "as advertised" but really the beauty of this space couldn't be captured by the photos. It had modern amenities but felt like you were stepping into the past at the same time. The covered but open porch overlooking the Illinois River was also more stunning than the photos could reflect. "We stayed here for three nights to go hiking in the area with friends. First, the positives: The house is in a nice quiet neighborhood, a short drive to town and not far from Starved Rock and other parks. Check-in was smooth and the house is nicely decorated and seemed clean. "The cabin was nice, and the kitchen had everything we needed. It was mostly ok so I just point to negatives. I was disappointed with the outdoor areas. The decks were in poor condition, covered with debris and fallen brush. One section of the guardrail was broken, which was concerning. The garage was unusable, we had to park our cars outside. "Close to downtown Ottawa which made it very convenient for our weekend activities. The home is located next to a railroad track; there were a handful of trains that passed through while we were there but nothing too disruptive. Plenty of room in the apartment."

"What a great stay! This home was perfect for us. Just minutes away from Starved Rock, Buffalo Rock, Matthiessen, and Illini State Parks! "Beautiful scenic view of the river. First time fishing for my son, who absolutely adored it! Thank you for the host for being so generous and letting us borrow his fishing supplies. Neighbors were nice. The state park was fun to visit too. We grilled, made s'mores, relaxed, and had an amazing long weekend. Would highly recommend. "

"Quick trip to Illinois for fall break. My family loved the house. We all had rooms on separate floors and with teenagers they loved it! The area was really nice. Enjoyed some hiking at nearby Starved Rock State Park and Matthiessen State Park. Also drove in to Chicago quick for a Bulls game. "

"This property was a major disappointment. The photos are heavily edited and don’t reflect the reality—shaky toilets, torn blinds, uncomfortable beds, and a serious bug problem made the stay unpleasant. The stairs are steep and unsafe, and the home is hard to access. The water behind the house is stagnant and only adds to the mosquito issue. Not worth the high price—would not recommend."
