"El Porxo is a beautifully furnished house with excellent beds, bed linen, towels, dressing gowns and slippers. Everywhere is super clean, including the large pool. Lovely well maintained gardens to relax in and a gorgeous dining terrace. The owner is delightful. We’ll definitely return if we come back to Girona."

The couple that run it are very engaging and helpful and the food, prepared by the husband, is simply outstanding. It is very much in the country and a great place to relax and disconnect, which was what we wanted from the experience. If you want a more urban experience, this is not the place for you, but we just loved it. It was stunning."

Everything was spotless, the staff were superb, the room was large and well-appointed. Most hotels I stay in have one common 'fault' - a double room with only one chair! "Hotel Restaurant Sausa provides excellent value for money spent. The room was very clean with a refrigerator and a large bathroom with wall-in shower. It is not fancy, but it met our needs. There is a nice big pool and an on site restaurant, but we did not utilize either. This is a convenient base for day trips to Girona, Figueres, Besalu, and the Mediterranean coastal towns."
