"Amazing location, room 1 had view of Yasaka Pagoda right outside the window. Units were very comfortable and had everything we needed, small kitchen, laundry and wonderful bathroom with soaking tubs. Staff was very accommodating and easy to communicate with. We stayed with kids and another family. One thing to note, because of tourist crowding on the street it’s not possible for taxi/uber to get right to the hotel, you need to walk a bit to get there. Fine for us but just something to know."

"Didn’t plan it but our stay coincided with the Gion festival in mid July. Mimaru even offered free guided tours of one of the elaborate floats; what a unique experience! The location is in a quiet neighborhood but easy walking distance to all the shopping and restaurants. The unit is clean, bright, and enough room for our family of 4. A great stay for our first trip to Kyoto. Highly recommend!"

"Nice clean place. Very friendly staff. Kids enjoyed the bunk beds. Our family of four fit in reasonably well, although the room did seem bigger in the pictures. Nijo castle is very close, but for everything else we took an Uber. Location is not very central, but close enough to, say, Kamo river. All in all, a very pleasant experience."

"The room I got was very good for the price. It was perfectly clean and had all the amenities I wanted plus some extras, like they provided detergent for the washing machine. The location is nice (1 block away from a subway station) and the staff are efficient. The only thing I disliked is that they want you to leave your keys with the front desk whenever you leave the hotel, which is strange and could cause problems, but thankfully I avoided any such problems."
