"This was the second time I stayed at this location. This time I was in a standalone room on the property instead of in one of the rooms on the second floor. The hotel location is fairly simple to get to, located within a gated community where there are at least two guards on duty at all times that check all vehicles going in and out. "As a family hotel, I enjoyed my stay at Melia Chiang Mai as a couple. We upgraded to a Level suit and found the amenities worth it. The best part was the daily happy hour but you can also have breakfast with much better quality of food than found in the buffet. "A great choice if you want to discover Chiang Mai for a few days in comfort and in the center of the old city. Several temples are within walking distance, as are the historic city gates. The hotel itself is very comfortable, with solid friendly service and good recommendations for activities. Breakfast is efficient and I recommend the Thai options. Rooms are spacious. Pool access rooms, worth it for the calm and view! "
